    5. this traditional cap badge consists on a matt white metal "totenkopf". It was destinated to be worn on the visor cap but period pics show it worn on overseas caps, M43. This skull take its origin on 1809 with the "Schwarze Schar" and thus was worn successivaly by different units in order to keep the tradition living. the attached genealogy is showing the units which were entitled to wear this badge. Various manufactures exist. As it was worn before, during and after WW1, other patterns exist for pre-WW2 period. You're welcome to show your caps or photos with this badge worn jacques
    6. I tend to think that this card was related to the fact that the germans were not engaged as german Army. Before to be sent to Spain they were listened off the Army and sent in Spain as "tourists". All the incoming or outcoming troops were in civilian clothes. As they have no more German military individual documents, this one proved they pertained to the LC under the spanish Army control. jacques
    7. The members of the Legion Condor received a personal document named "Carnet Militar de Identidad". The picture is taken in civil clothes or LC uniform. The name is "spanished". The rank is spanish thus the unit.
