If anyone sees a Brazilian Victory medal for $1500 you should buy it immediately (or tell me where you saw it and I will buy it). That would be a bargain price as far as I am concerned. Over here in Europe you would be lucky to find one anywhere for the less than the equivalent of $2500

Hi Rob
It's a amazing group !!!!
It's correct! Vic type 2, were issued in the 30s, curiously all diplomas I've seen so far, are from 1932 !Sub-oficial João do Prado Maria, 12-5-1932 (admiral Prado Maia)

Wow, Lambert, thank you for this amazing research!! I had no idea I had the diploma of a man who later became an admiral. Thank you so much for sharing this news.
I am guessing then that the medal probably does not belong to the diploma, or it means that someone took apart his medal group.

I think it's the lighting, the medals in real-life are more or less the same tone as far as I can see

Hi everyone,
I am new to the forum and thought I would share a picture of my Cuba victory medal which is contained in this group on a medal bar. I also have the enamel ribbon bar. The victory medal is a Laslo official type but I would be grateful if anyone can let me know what the other medals are.
thanks in advance

Welcome Rob,
I'm very envious of your Brazilian vic, not to mention the diploma. Please post photos!

Apologies to anyone wanting to see this but I was on business. Here are what I think is a Laslo official type 2 plus the diploma with which I bought it. I have no proof that these two items officially go together!

Hi all,
I am new to the forum but have been collecting these WWI US state, county and town victory medals for a number of years.
In his book, Louis Small lists the following known State victory medals, with an estimate of the numbers issued:
New York 427,871
Missouri 140,247
New Jersey 130,024
North Carolina 105,436
Maryland 64,424 (actual number)
Connecticut 56,881
Oregon 32,276
New Hampshire 18,255
District of Columbia 18,016
Delaware 9,187
Wyoming 8,009
I have them all if anyone needs photos - it took me some time and a bit of money to get Delaware and Wyoming.
best wishes

Hello all,
I am new to the site and have been reading this interesting thread about the Brazilian Victory medal. More than 10 years ago I bought a type 2 from a dealer in London and it came with a Diploma. I can share a picture of the medal and diploma if anyone is interested.
My questions are, how rare is it to find a Brazilin victory medal still with its diploma and how much does the diploma add to the value of the medal?
best wishes

I bought an official type 2 several years ago but it had lost its ribbon. I can see a few people on this thread have attached a piece of interallied victory medal ribbon, but does anyone know where I can get a replacement (even if modern) piece of the original ribbon that should have been on the medal?
thanks
Rob
