He's probably started collecting in1920's and got most of the medals for 10 Reich Marks
I've just noticed that he got a Bänderkatalog there in fine condition. PDF copy of that would be nice to have.
He begun to collect in the 60ies, now he's mid 60.

Yeah... you're right Vince... and it is just the tip of the iceberg of his collection. I know him personally and was invited to his home and he showed me his huge collection (with focus on Bavaria). Incredible! Some of the pieces I saw again at Gunzenhausen, I remember very distinctly, like the King of Bulgaria's ribbon bar and some of the huge miniature chains with Golden orders.
There was more there in his war room in the basement than at the Bavarian Army Museum in Ingolstadt!
Ciao,
Claudio

Thanks Glenn!
Any Bavarian connections? He got a MVO4kr and a MVO3KrX (late WWI)...

Well, if you calculate that every miniature is about 16mm, I think it could be 25-30 cm long, if you strech it completely! :speechless1:

7er Feldspange alter Art
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States
Posted · Edited by Claudio
Hi Sascha,
I completely confused this bar with another bar I posted on the thread "Gunzenhausen, show what you bought"...
This bar has nothing to do with v. Loewenfeld and you are completely right!
My fault... sorry!
Ciao,
Claudio
