It's basically an order of Bulgarian Air Force Battalion which states that German officers are awarded with tsarist aviator badges.
I can see that by the number 12 is a 2nd Lieutenant Mayer. I guess there must be more names on the list.

The link covers cavaliers of Bulgarian Order for Bravery from Russo-Turkish war all the way to WW1 and doesn't actually relate to what I'm looking for but thank you for your time anyways!
However, I have found an article about the unit on the site but information is the same and brief as the one I've found on wikipedia.

Hi Guys, what are your opinions on this one please.
Early post-war, low numbered example made by ZIN. I don't like the fact that it has been cleaned but that's just my opinion.

I've managed to get my own example of this medal. It belonged to Ilcho Gochev Tonev. I've also got a document from his unit 12th Infantry Balkan Regiment. The document states that Ilcho had participated in operations of 1st Bulgarian Army against Germany from November 21st 1944 until June 15th 1945.

It's been almost twelve years since the last reply. I can hardly believe that there hasn't been any additions to this thread since then. I found interest in this medal lately and I would kindly ask members to contribute with images of their examples if possible.

I am looking for information on Bulgarian 12th Infantry Balkan Regiment/Дванадесети пехотен балкански полк from the period of Bulgarian coup d'etat until the end of the Second World War. I've found some information on Bulgarian wikipedia but only a few sentences.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

I've checked the references I had in mind, but unfortunately could not find what I was looking for.
Don't bother, it probably just looks like any central European town to me. Thank you for your trouble!

Very interesting photos, thank you again for sharing them!
Do you happen to know where the photo was taken? It looks a bit familiar to me.

The price with buyers premium is 62,500$. The collection stays in the States and luckily, the buyer said that he will not separate the group.

Awesome list! It's interesting to see English names transcribed in Russian and how the Russians wrote their names how they've heard them.

I've seen a post on facebook that his awards will go for an auction. Unfortunately, I don't know which auction house. Here's the photo of his awards. Absolutely amazing!

Tатковината actually means fatherland.

I speak Macedonian. Send me a private message if you have some questions regarding the text.

I was wondering why his site was down lately and I am sad to finally know what is the cause. I didn't personally know the man but he is well known amongst collectors of socialist Yugoslavia.

During your visit to Skopje, any museum wth Orders there ?
Yes! In the Holocaust Memorial Center for the Jews of Macedonia in Skopje, there are a few personal items of Beno Ruso who became a Lieutenant-General of the Yugoslav People's Army after the war. Among those items was his Order of Brotherhood and Unity 1st class and the booklet for his "Partizanska spomenica 1941.". There was also a bunch of other militaria, mostly German. The Old Bazaar of Skopje is located only a couple of hundred meters north of the museum and it's full of antique shops. You won't miss the ones with militaria. They have military uniforms displayed outside so make sure that you go there when the weather is nice, otherwise they could be inside.
Also in Bitola, in the south of Macedonia, there were a bunch of medals and orders in the NI Insitute and museum Bitola.
Here's the thread with a few photos I took in those museum and some of the stuff I bought in Skopje's antique shops.0 -
Nice thread! While on my visit to Macedonia this year in May, I had some time to visit local antique shops in Skopje. There was a lot of various militaria, mostly socialist Yugoslavia but I haven't seen any newer medals/orders.

The double headed eagle is the coat of arms of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Two of the badges in the bottom are hat cockades. I cannot recognize the one on top.
These are not my field of interest so I cannot say anything about the value nor authenticity.

This time only document to I.R.(born 1920), Major of the Yugoslav Army who was commander of battalion in 3rd Lika Proletarian Shock Brigade of the 6th Lika Proletarian Division during WW2. As a commander he was wounded in both legs during combat near Požega, Serbia in 1944 after which he was sent to Italy for medical treatment. He wrote that the commander of Division and a People's Hero of Yugoslavia Đoko Jovanić, visited him and other wounded before they were sent to Italy.
