When you look at the document you can see that there's a six torches coat of arms in the upper part but the illustration of the order in the middle is with five torches. That just proves they weren't looking after the details that much.
Yes, I've also noticed it. Thanks for pointing that out!
Sorry for getting back to Partisan Stars but take a look at this huge group of 3rd classes. I don't remember where I've seen this photo but I remember that the guy who posted it said he got all of them from IKOM right after the breakup of Yugoslavia. Maybe it's true or maybe he invented the story so he can sell his fakes. If I remember correctly the guy was from Russia.

Such a lovely piece! Congrats!

Thanks for the images Paja!
Take a look at this Brotherhood and Unity with Golden Wreath which was awarded to Hajduk Split Football Club. It was awarded in 1974 but the order has 5 torches which is 11 years after the 6th torch was introduced. It also looks a bit shinny but the photo is not that good so I can't say for sure. These are the only photos I could find.

That's really weird. I've never seen any Yugoslav decoration hand engraved. Also, does it look like it only has IKOM stamp or am I missing the rooster somewhere?

Thanks for the further explanation! Any chance you can share the photos of those three IKOM 1st classes?

Thank you for posting photos of the order from your collection.
Take a look at 2nd and 1st class from Sammler's base, you can't see that detail on the front side.I don't like these at all. The 2nd class' screw pin looks like it isn't in center at all. The 1st class' wreath is way too thin.

Maybe those are actually mint flaws which were common for this order...
Talking about shinny, I have this documented group of Order of Labour with Golden Wreath and Order of Merits for the People with Silver Rays awarded to the single person which I think it's 100% authentic. Is it just me or does it have that shinny too good to be true look although I think it's legit?

Thanks for creating this topic Paja! I hope we will find some answers.
Here's my shinny IKOM Partisan Star 3rd class which I've already shown here: http://gmic.co.uk/topic/15023-yugoslavian-partisan-stars/?page=11 post #258
It has an unusual details which both Paja and Eric pointed out.

Belgrade is mentioned because the chancellery of orders was located there. The stamp mentions the chancellery of orders but does not mention any location except for Yugoslavia.
Also what does 1280202 - H 535 - 12-8-48 - 2000 mean?

I also haven't seen an awarded IKOM type Partisan Star. Here's the Soviet awarded PS 3rd class which was awarded in 1952 (group of photos from the internet, not from my collection). Too bad there wasn't a photo of the back side.
If the Soviet types were still awarded in 1952 when did the IKOM start producing the Yugo type?
As for the screw plates and quality of orders in general I've also noticed the significant drop of quality over time. The newer ones had that shiny look without that much of a detail.

Ivan Hariš, triple Order for Bravery, Order of People's Hero and an Order of Merits for the People 1st class

No problem!
I've found out about this gentleman in one of Military encyclopedias (Vojna enciklopedija) so I had to search for more info online and share it here.
Here's another bad photo from a museum in New Zealand with his decorations, Yugoslav officer's parade belt and what appears to be a visor hat badge.

That's indeed strange. I agree that the Order of Merits for the People is most likely lower class, the 2nd class considering him being a People's Hero, "prvoborac" (I don't know how to translate this properly
) and 2 classes of Partisan Star.

Nice one Eric!

An interesting account of a New Zealand Corporal who became an honorary Major of the Yugoslav People's Army for his service in the Partisan forces. It's not exactly a documented group of awards but it's an interesting one for sure.
