Hello Gents, Thankyou for your replies, much appreciated! So from what info i can gather..the first medal is actually on the bar in the wrong place so is the Centarmedaille. Now the Baden DA?? is this supposed to be on the last place? what does this medal look like? And the war merit cross...its not even supposed to be there? Thanks again Gents! Paul

Hello Gents, Found this bar lurking on Evilbay...seller does not give any info, so i'd thought to have a surf to find out what i could, so i could only find a close resemblance to the Baden Merit cross of the order of Zahringer Lowens for the first one thats assuming that the second medal is with the wrong ribbon as it looks like a Baden War Merit Cross , thens theres the Centarmedaille, and then, the 1870-71 war medal, the next missing one in Yellow??? and the last one??? cannot find anything about that sort of ribbon so far... Does anyone know the link to the site where he has a page dedicated to german imperial ribbons and how to identify?? Please send the link! i miss not having that for reference...( instead of having to annoy the gents with dumb questions... ) I wonder then...if the medals for this bar are not that rare so it could be assembled again??? i guess when i know for sure what they are, i will be then, able to ferret around and find out..lol Cheers, Paul

Hi Flying Dutchman, Thanks for letting me know. now when was this book printed? its all there and the spine is intact, as you can see the front cover has been slightly damaged on the lower right hand corner, would this detract from this 150EUro price? Will only swap for imperial medalbars... Regards Paul

Hello Gents, I have bought this Book , Its title is; Kaiser Wilhelm II und seine zeit 1888-1913 Written entirely in German, it has some awesome plates in it of early Imperial times. I will post two shots i took of two pics in the book. on the back is the Book binder? Leipziger Buchbinderef-A.G. vorm: Gustav Fritzsche Also inside the front cover it has a note scrawled in pen stating that the book was picked up in some market in Munich in 1966. Smashing Book! and it only cost me $10!

Hello Gents, More pics are here! could not get the close ups i wanted as the EKII has i funny look about the 'W' and the 1914 date...it looks like the stamper? didn't hit it hard enough and it moved slightly downwards and created a stepped impression, and its only on the bottom. Weird huh? The EK is held on with a Prym safety pin as the top suspender eyelet has been lost.( i am tempted to get a Jeweller to make me another to fix it up a bit, but i'll prolly leave it) As the reverse shows, the Hindenburg was an addittion and its soldered on! the minatures have fantastic detail, pity about the EK losing some the black paint.. The ribbon Buttoniers are interesting, as they are the same width as the ribbons on the medal bar. all in all am pleased with it!

Hi Gents, Thanks Paul! i'm pleased too! Thanks Wild card...for the info Also a thanks to Jens Bob, already hit the slope a while back....its getting more slippery by the day! Dave, its good to know that these were a bit rarer than the Freidrich August ones and many thanks for the excellent info! Might look for a Oldenburg one soon., i kinda like the all crosses look...and i seem to like trios.... oops... the slippery slope beckons.....I'm a goner! Cheers Paul

[Hi Jens, Nice stuff! Now what does 'Bewahrungsabzeichen' mean??? Just got the set this morning, the Hindenburg cross was an add on...so the original bar of the EKII and the Brunswick cross were mounted pre 1934! and the buttoniers are quite large! Also the ribbon bar has the smallest swords i have ever seen! Does anyone know much about these Brunswick crosses? like why and how they were awarded etc.. Thanks for your help! Cheers Paul quote name='JensF.' date='Oct 3 2005, 12:06 ' post='23099'] Nice! Here is a complete set with the "Bew?hrungsabzeichen":

Hello Gents, Just bought this wee set, and the seller tells me he has more buttonhole devices with this set, so am looking forward to its arrival in the post! Has a red felt backing , no label. and the ribbon bar has a black felt backing looks like it has been through a hard time, but some TLC will sort it out... Will post better pics when it arrives! Enjoy! Regards Paul

Thanks Bob, Its good to know that this one will be ok with the Trio. I actually favour the parade style where the ribbon is furled and then sewn into a bellows like fold, as this gives the medals a nice cushion to sit on and therefore preserving the medals somewhat...( instead of the swaying loosely and rubbing and wearing against each other) I had thought that this type of ribbon bar was 'Barvarian' and wanted to be sure that the Wurttemburgers used this type often, so that it would not look out of place. Thanks again! Regards Paul.
