Just a correction on the photo ;
(1) marked Breast Star is an Osmanie as mentioned . But (1) marked Osmanie Badge is Not an Osmanie Badge , it is an Medjidie Badge . Btw , can not guarantee without measuring but i think that set is a Grand Cross set of Osmanie ..
(2) marked Breast Star is Medjidie , it is right but (2) marked badge is the Osmanie's badge , not Medjidie ...
So there was criss-cross mistake ...
: )
Avsar
Thank you Avsar! Yes, now I see that I marked them wrongly.
So, you think the Osmaniye Set is 1st Class (Grand Cross) and the Medjidie Set is 2nd Class, correct?
I still think the Osmaniye Set is 2nd Class, because I have information that he was awarded this order on 6 April 1904, when he was still a Kapitan zur See. This rank is too low for him to be awarded the Grand Cross.

Yes, this helps a lot.

Hello, I have some questions about the Bulgarian Order of Military Merit from the period before WW2 and during WW2.
The classes of this order are the following:
- Grand Cross
- Grand Officer
- Commander
- Officer
- Knight
- Silver Cross
Here are my questions:
1. What were the parts of the design of this order? Was it the Swords and the Crown? Or just the Swords?
2. During wartime, what were the devices that could be added to the award? Was it only the War Decoration (laurel wreath)?
3. What were the devices that could be added to the award during peacetime? The Crown?
Thanks!

Very interesting! What is the source you found the last both decorations for Böse?
I don't have photographic or documentary evidence for the Ehren-und Erinnerungskreuz des Marinekorps Flandern, but Böse served as the Divisionsarzt der I. Marinedivision, Marinekorps Flandern (02.12.1917 - 06.02.1918). This made him eligible to recieve the Flandernkreuz, and I am pretty sure he received it.
Regarding the Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer. What do you mean a source for this one? Firstly, it can be seen on Böse's? medal bar that you posted in the first post of this thread. Secondly, every veteran of WW1 was eligible for the Ehrenkreuz für Frontkämpfer. Since Böse saw frontline combat, he is no exeption.

Unknown #6
I need help with identifying this admiral. I think he is a Konteradmiral. I don't know where the photo was taken, it looks like some sort of barracks. Any help is much appreciated!

For Hugo Meurer I also have China-Denkmünze in Bronze based on the ribbon bar posted by Nicolas in the first post. The class (Bronze) is just a guess. Since Nicolas hasn't replied to my question how he was able to confirm this medal for Meurer, I don't know if he actually received it. If we are to believe the medal bar posted by Johan is really Meurer's, then he didn't receive the China-Denkmünze, only the Südwestafrika-Denkmünze. Therefore, I am going to delete the China-Denkmünze from his list.
Regarding Alexander Meurer, here is what I have:
-Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden II. Klasse mit Eichenlaub (18. 01. 1914)
-Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden II. Klasse (16. 01. 1910)
-Eisernes Kreuz (1914) I. Klasse
-Eisernes Kreuz (1914) II. Klasse
-Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897
-China-Denkmünze in Bronze
-Südwestafrika-Denkmünze in Stahl
-Kaiserlich Russische China-Denkmünze 1900-1901 in Bronze
-Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden III. Klasse mit der Schleife
-Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden IV. Klasse
-Königlich Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz
-Ritterkreuz I. Klasse des Königlich Württembergischen Friedrichs-Ordens
-Hamburgisches Hanseatenkreuz
-Großherzoglich Oldenburgisches Friedrich August-Kreuz II. Klasse
-Kommandeurkreuz II. Klasse des Königlich Dänischen Dannebrog-Ordens
-Offizierskreuz des Königlichen Ordens der Krone von Italien
-Ritterkreuz I. Klasse des Königlich Norwegischen Ordens des heiligen Olaf
-Kaiserlich Russischer St. Stanislaus-Orden II. Klasse
-k.u.k. Österreichischer Orden der Eisernen Krone II. Klasse mit der Kriegsdekoration
-Kaiserlich Türkischer Eiserner Halbmond
-Ehrenkreuz für FrontkämpferAnd here are some photos of his medals I found. I pressume these are from the International Maritimes Museum in Hamburg. Just one little note, he most certainly didn't receive the Kriegsdenkmünze für die Feldzüge 1870–71. He was born in 1862!

Please help me ID his medal bar:
- Eisernes Kreuz (1914) 2. Klasse
- Ritterkreuz des Königlich Preußischen Hausordens von Hohenzollern mit Schwertern
- Königlich Preußisches Dienstauszeichnungskreuz
- Königlich Preußische Kaiser Wilhelm-Centenarmedaille 1897
- Bremisches Hanseatenkreuz
- Königlich Bayerischer Militärverdienstorden 3. Klasse mit der Krone und Schwertern
- Großherzoglich Oldenburgisches Friedrich August-Kreuz 2. Klasse
- Großherzoglich Mecklenburg-Schwerinsches Militärverdienstkreuz 2. Klasse
- ???
The odd thing is, his entry in the 1918 Rangliste lists the Hamburg Hanseatenkreuz. But on his medal bar we can see he had the Bremen Hanseatenkreuz (5th medal). Could the last (unknown) medal be the Hamburg Hanseatenkreuz? If yes, why isn't it mounted next to the Bremen Hanseatenkreuz? If not, what is the last cross on his medal bar then?
Here is the full list of his awards I have:
-Königlich Preußischer Roter Adler-Orden II. Klasse mit Eichenlaub und Schwertern (04. 12. 1917)
-Königlich Preußischer Kronen-Orden II. Klasse (18. 01. 1914)

Yes, I think you are right about the Nischan Iftikar-Orden, and that he got the Großoffizierkreuz. I found it listed as "TNJft1" and I pressumed this meant the Großkreuz.
Thanks for the sources regarding the HSEH3a. My source didn't list it (it listed SA3a instead), and I guess then the "Ritterkreuz I. Klasse des Königlich Sächsischen Albrechts-Ordens" should be replaced with HSEH3a? Do you agree?
Regarding the Kolonial-Denkmünze mit Spange „Deutsch-Ostafrika 1888/89“. You are correct that he was dead when this medal was being awarded. But I think it was awarded to him posthumously.

Does anyone know if Marinegeneralstabsarzt Dr. med. Paul Schmidt was awarded the EK I and EK II?
He was in active service until 24 May 1916.
Thanks!

Is the 2nd ribbon from the right the Bayerisches König Ludwig-Kreuz?
And was he awarded the Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges (2nd ribbon) with Swords or without Swords? Since he got the regular EK2 (and not the one on the white ribbon for non-combatants) he must have received the Ehrenkreuz des Weltkrieges mit Schwertern. But on your ribbon bar there is no Swords device? How is that?
Nice ribbon bar by the way!

Interesting, why did a german navy officer got a japanese decoration for the war against Russia in 1904 / 05? Does anybody has any clue?
Between 1902 and 1906, he was the German Naval Attaché in Tokyo.

What is the last medal on his medal bar? The clasp above it also seems to be a part of the medal. The second to last medal should be the Ritterkreuz des Königlichen Ordens der Württembergischen Krone (WK3).
Between 1902 and 1906, Trummler was the Naval Attaché in Tokyo. Could this last medal be a Japanese medal of some sorts? Or is it a Jubilee/Coronation medal from some other country? For example Great Britain. Trummler was Commander of the British Royal Victorian Order (GV3).
Thanks!

This is the Italian Crown Order (Grand Officer level)
But I have a question. If EK2 was issued in 1914, then Germany and Italy are belligerents, can they still wear enemy orders?
Italy entered the war on 23 May 1915. Tapke could have been awarded the EK2 before that date, and he would still be allowed to wear the Italian Crown Order until 23 May 1915.

Please help me ID this Kaiserliche Marine admiral. The photo was taken during WW2 in France. He is wearing glasses and what appears to be either the Roter Adler Orden 2. Klasse or the Kronen Orden 2. Klasse around the neck.
