    1. Here is a group of photos that may be of a man named Eastman. I would guess Harold E. Eastman. His number was 31277011. I think these are of a night recon plane crew.
    2. Thank you all for your help! The second cross was pictured when I bought these but I initially recieved the first cross. The second cross had some promise from the original pictures but when in hand I was not happy. I just wanted to confirm before I send both packing which I will do. Geting the money back should be no problem. Thanks, Chet
    3. One thing I forgot to mention - the area inside the beading is higher on cross #1 than the beading is. The high spots would wear before the beading. This is one thing I like about this piece. Cross #2 has beading higher than the inner section. I hope this makes sense.
    4. Second issue. The small plate is smaller than on its cousin. So keep #1, #2 or send them both packing? Thanks for your time! Chet
    5. The pin set up on cross #2 is what I think an issue piece has. If I am wrong, please tell me. There are a couple of things odd still on this one. First is the rough finish to the pin.
    6. I need some guidance on these. I would like to keep one if it is an issue piece. The first cross I think is a 20's to 30's piece. The second one has a chance in my opinion but I would like to hear your thoughts. Cross #1
    7. I have not posted much lately so I thought it was time to share a new piece. This is from Saturday. I was thinking that it may be one of the third type of EK2. No documents so no proof. The bar is nice and tight and does not appear to be messed with. My only question is the two LS medals. Is this possible? This one has just a little wear to it the way I like it. Thanks, Chet
    8. I think this is the one from Mr. Browning. If so, I have held this bar a few times. I asked the opinion of others that post here and decided to leave it alone. Maybe they will add more.
    9. Gentlemen, Thank you all for the help. I have very few British pieces so I am a little unfamiliar. My one group is to an RFC man that came from the army and I found his card so I thought that most RFC/RAF guys were transfers. Paul - I looked up the medal you mention and I wish it had been there also! Next round of beer is on me. Perce - thanks for the extra info. How researchable are RAF singles? Brian - I was just searching names and saw a third class air mechanic by chance and put it together. Chers guys
    10. Gentlemen, I know this is supposed to be easy but I need some help. I have a BWM named 97089.2.A.M.J.KELLY. R.A.F. I bought this "out in the wild" with nothing to refer to. I never know the abbreviations and for me this could have meant Air Marshall. I now think this is 2nd class Air Mechanic J. Kelly. I put this into the search page for the index cards and I do not get a name and service number match. Kelly brings up 82,000+ names so that is no help. What am I doing wrong? There were three possible matches under air mechanic Kelly but the service numbers were wrong and no others were listed when I looked at the details. Thanks, Chet
    11. After much thought I ended up returning this piece. It was not the perfect one for my collection and I will wait. Thanks to those who helped on this.
    12. Claudio, I spoke to Stuart about this bar a while ago and he provided me with a link to another forum where Rick had narrowed this down. Did he give you this information?
    13. I agree with Wild Card on this but the problem is what happens when these pieces change hands a few times over the years? We can associate these bars with a name. Will we remember them in five years? Too bad people are like this.
    14. The little casting mark in the hinge well is not there. I know many will not touch a badge that has it.
    15. Gentlemen, This is a new badge in my collection and information on these is a little scare, at least in my reference pile. I have looked at Detlevs book and this piece differs from the Juncker shown by a bit. I had originally thought this to be an unmarked Junker but with the differences I am not sure. This piece has a wider uncovered hinge not like other Juncker pieces. Also, there is less detail to the crown. There is a noticeable brass colored section on the edge of the badge where I imagine two pieces were joined. The extra boulder on the mountain to the right seems odd to me. According to the seller, this was blessed by Detlev after an in hand inspection. There seems to be the same type of badge on Emedals right now with a Detlev document. My question is - does everyone agree this is a pre 1945 item? I can not find much about them and would greatly appreciate any help or input. I can still return this if I need to. Thanks, Chet
    16. This was named at one point according to the owner that had it before the auction. I had a chance to buy this bar but was short of funds due to other purchases out of the collection. The owner had forgotten the name but claimed that it was written down some where. I am afraid that is all gone now. Great bar!!
    17. I saw that one and just did not like it. Not a Saxon type mounting or attachment. It also looks way too new.
