    1. That reminded me of these... painted onto the CDV itself. You can see the cracks in the paint up close..... lovely..., tony
    2. Fortunately perhaps?? i wish I had more.... My Grandfather carried a camera during his service. Apparently wads of graphic photos survived war and travel until 1968. My Dad used to tell me of his horror at finding they were all destroyed upon his Dads death. My Nan had always hated them! But... 2 years ago I found his ID card, pin badge for the 83rd and some Rppc that survived. Treasure!! once I've contributed a bit more I'll be shouting about him from the rooftops..... 4.44am so Best wishes Sir. tony
    3. Brilliant. Brings the pics to a different level. tony (i noticed a few cannon in your pics - i know why now....)
    4. Thanks The Prussian You've got some beauties there... those older ones when the uniforms were more colourful look great.... tony ps 1 more...
    5. Hi Gents im hoping to add the signature below to the all eras signature database.... but I need a name for that to happen. i would never put money on this being possible but if it can be done by anyone.... it's the GMIC who can.... this is personal- this paperwork was issued to my Grandmother and enabled my Dad and his family to leave Vienna for Kenya. there is not much to go on but no harm trying.... I'd appreciate thoughts either way if possible. thank you Gents tony
    6. Hi Gents ive had this a while... surely Egyptian? (Hopefully not just a tourist momento!) hope you like it Gents tony
    7. Hi Gents ive had these a while... I no longer remember what the round one is but the other I have noted as a ww2 reservist badge. I probably wouldn't post these except I understand the reservist badge is a nice example. I seem to recall that it is an early example with a thicker pin than the later ones..... tony
    8. Morning Bayern heres the reverse of this one... sent from Greifenberg, I don't think this is Feldposte - based on it having paid postage - but maybe there is something you can see in the text? And while I'm here, here is another one I've just received.A variety of uniforms with what looks (to me!) like signals/comms equipment.... written 11-1-15 Sent with postage paid from Innsbruck(?) I think.... tony
    9. Thanks as always Bayern. I owe you a drink or two! Hi Gents a new arrival of mine dated 6 -4- 15 tony

    13. Hi Gents i only have 2 of these please add your own should you wish..... these are named...... M12456 - J.Arnolds N66263 - J.Dibetso tony
    14. Hi Gents ive dug out a few badges I have. ive picked these up along the way as part of job lots or groups. I always assume badges are restrikes because I lack the skills to know the difference so none of these have cost me much at all. i would guess the para badge is a copy because the base of the lugs looks so fresh..... Whichever I still enjoy them, I hope you do too.... tony
    15. Hi Gents ive just the one AVM to add. its had a hard life! i believe the edge reads as follows 4699 PTE. SATTI (SAITI?) 2/K A R ------ theres a large 'dink' before the final R that looks like a letter sometimes, perhaps so in the photos but the spacing would be wrong. ------ ive always assumed 2nd Kings African Regiment or Rifles.... hope you like it tony
