    1. I loved seeing it! I just couldn't say anything about it. It was a mystery to me as well. I think you might have misunderstood Panzerpioneer. His comments did seem harsh but he is really helpful on all Spanish items. I think it is just a bit of a language thing and comes off as short. He is always really helpful. I have also been lobbying to add Division Azul to this forum so it might turn out to be in the right place someday anyways ;)

    2. Hi Rosenburg,I don't know the answer to your question but you are not being ignored. I am sure that when jacques gets back he will have an answer for you. He should be back in a week or less I believe.

    3. Don, the arrows are the Falange symbol (fascist Franco) The patch with the arrows w/o helmet are not per se blue division though a blue division member might have one as far as I know.

    4. I have seen this on the medal bars of Legion Condor men. What was it awarded for? Post Civil war was it still awarded? Can anyone direct me to a good book about spanish awards paticularly of the Civil War?

      Thanks guys, Best, Sal

    5. Can someone tell me a bit about these? What is the proper name for it firstly  . I know these were awarded to the Legion condor personel also. Were they awarded after the spanish civil war? Were they only for a certain campaign? Is this original? To the Spanish Civil War era? What price do they fetch?

      Thanks, Sal

    6. Yes it is a dogtag. When a soldier was KIA it was broken in half, half remained with the body and the other half went to records I believe. That one seems to me to be no good. The type seems wrong and it does not seem to have a name and unit mark which seems odd. I am no expert on these so don't cast it out till you hear from someone more knowledgeable, but I do know it is supposed to be a dogtag. Loschzug means fire brigade so what seems odd to me is that it is fire brigade "liblar" 26. I don't see how that would identify the man himself unless he had the number 26 as his personal ID number. I don't see why someone would counterfeit such an item but it just does not look good somehow.

    7. Thanks much Francisco! Here are some more pics of the reverse. Is it authentic? Seems to be. Anyone have any info on that militia? Panzerpioneer I was wondering what your thoughts were too.
