    1. Hi Guys,

Has anyone got any information on Alfred Richard Fischer Junker der Waffen SS? I have a LOT of feldpost letters from this man to his (future) wife spanning from 1941 through 1945. He bacame SS in 44 (pretty late, maybe he didn't see the writing on the wall laugh.gif ). Also among his future wifes suitors was another SS man and a guy from Gross Deutschland. I have a few of thier letters as well. A few of the stamps indicate Herr Fischer was posting from a glider school feldpost. The story looks like it could be interesting but I don't really know where to start (or how rather) researching it. They were from Vienna Austria BTW. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    4. Hi Rick,

      not much to add,

Westmark was commissioned as a Leutnant der Reserve on 17.10.99 B6b in I.R. 114. By May 1909 he was the senior infantry Leutnant der Landwehr I in Landwehrbezirk Stockach and was an Oberleutnant d.L. by May 1910.

He was living in Linz so that is probably why the decorations turned up in Austria.

      Regards

      Glenn

Glenn! You are so modest. What about his exact addess and occupation after the war. I know it seems an impossible task and yet,.....

    5. I got this little guy for free and found it very interesting. It is a raucherkarte which is a cigarette ration card. At first I was perplexed as to why the rations had not been used but then it dawned on me,... it is valid from february through march 1945. There most likely were no shops that HAD cigarettes that late in the war so the ration card was useless! This seemed like the closest forum for this sort of thing, but if there is a better spot for it please feel free to move this post!
