Hungary 1941 Hungarian tunic tailor's tag help
JohnHajnal replied to rathbonemuseum's topic in Central & Eastern European States
First off, great uniforms, as always. I think the loops are from some form of wings or specialization badge. I've seen medal ones that have the correct prongs, like the following boarder guard's badge http://www.emedals.ca/catalog.asp?item=H139. It could be, though is highly unlikely, that the man may have been attached to a para unit. I saw a photo once of a paratrooper with an air force tunic. I'll post the photos if I can find it. John -

JohnHajnal replied to hunyadi's topic in Central & Eastern European States
Hi CD. Long time no talk. How have you been? I'm going to be getting a copy soon as well. Many of the uniforms are from the collection of Mr. P?ter v. Laborc, who has one of the most extensive collections of WWII Hungarian uniforms in the world. The books site is www.huniform.com John -

They wold be the same, but with black collar tabs., and in the case of the greatcoat black piping. This is a medical greatcoat minus the collar tabs http://hungarianmilitaria.hu/modules/egyen...w.php?ruh_id=54 and this is a medical 3rd Lt/warrent officer's tunic and dress cap http://kepfeltoltes.pirateclub.hu/pics/orv...los_zubbony.jpg Best regards, John -

All the next photos are of an infantry captian's set I recently bought, although I think the cap and greatcoat have 1st Lt insignia on them. Here is the tunic... -

Hi All. I found this link about the Arrow Cross' persicution of the jews. It has some great photos of Arrow Cross men in uniform, and has a Waffen SS soldier with the death squad pin on his right breast pocket. Hello Gentlemen, This is my first post on this forum, and I am very happy to be part of such a distinguished group as this. I bought this set over the summer for a very good deal. I am only 17, so I was amazed to have to opportunity to own such a rare piece. Enjoy.
