Just great, thank you, Dave!

Hello Nicolas, sadly the gentlemen from Luftwaffe Officer Career Summaries have nothing on Karl Albrecht (born 25 November 1880 in Bad Mergentheim) and his Luftwaffe service. He was apparently Alter Adler (since 26 April 1912), served in WWI with the Feldflieger-Abteilung 47 as well as Feldflieger-Abteilung 64 (maybe also Feldflieger-Abteilung 12?) and received the Military Merit Order (Württemberg) on 20 March 1915. If you find out any more, please let me know. Could you identify the decorations of his very nice ribbon bar? Thanks, Andreas

The Luftwaffe bar might have belonged to Generalmajor Hans Hasse (1878-1968). It looks like he came in a bit too late for the Centenary. I have no proof for the Hamburg though, maybe Dave has more.
Can you give us any information about Johann "Hans" Hasse (if you find the time)? Maybe his WWI decorations? Maybe a picture? Any relation to General der Infanterie Wilhelm Otto Oswald Hasse? He is one of those generals where one can find very little about (he seems to have translated this book: https://www.zvab.com/servlet/BookDetailsPL?bi=10390935058). Thank you!

Gentlemen, I am looking for all WWI decorations of the later SS-Standartenführer und Oberst der Polizei Max Schimmelpfennig, who served in the Grenadier-Regiment „König Friedrich der Große“ (3. Ostpreußisches) Nr. 4 and as Leutnant der Reserve in the Inf-Rgt Nr 176 and in the Reserve-Inf-Regt Nr. 3. He received the EK II and I and was wounded (at least) four times between August 1916 and October 1918. So he must have had at least the Wound Badge in Silver, maybe even Gold, in pictures he never uses his right arm, salutes with his left (maybe amputated)? Thank you! PS: Any additional information about his career would be great!

Thank you, Dave! I take it, the problem is the bad quality of the picture with the ribbon seeming to be striped several times instead of only two broad stripes?!

Thank you! So maybe, just maybe, the unknown could be the Lübeckisches Hanseatenkreuz (if only the picture would be better), which would fit to him serving with the Schleswig-Holsteinisches Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 163 in Neumünster (subordinated to the 81. Infanterie-Brigade in Lübeck).

Gentlemen, could anyone help me with the first two ribbons left of the Dienstauszeichnungen. At least one seems to have swords, but is very hard to see. Thank you!
PS.: THIERRY TIXIER has him with the Knight's Cross of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern with Swords and the Lübeckisches Hanseatenkreuz. Could that be right???

Hi Matty
Lt dR Otto Hansen scored an aerial victory in FFA 62 in July 1915. For this he received the EKI in August 1915, but now he served in FFA 5. He did not receive the Hohenzollern so this must be another Hansen ! However he lster received the AR2ms. For the victory he received the EB (Ehrenbecher) on 24.12.1915.
During WW2 he became an Oberst
Gunnar
Hello, Gunnar! Is this the right Otto Hansen? What does AR2ms (... mit Schwertern) stand for? Thanks, Andreas
"HANSEN, Otto. 01.10.39 promo to Obstlt.; at LKS Dresden. 07.04.43 in XIII. Fliegerkorps area, trf to Führer-Reserve Ob.d.L. and ordered to Annahmestelle 2 für Offz.Bewerber d.Lw. on temporary duty. 01.07.43 permanently trf to Annahmestelle 2 für Offizierbewerber d.Lw. 01.06.44 promo to Oberst. 1944 in Annahmestelle 2 für Offizier-Bewährung d.Lw. 31.03.45 Oberst (Tr.O.) in Flieger-Ers.Btl. V, released from active military service."

Thank you, Sascha, I corrected it. But the date stays the same?

Thank you, Dave! One question, please: On 20 June 1910 he became Leutnant with Patent from 20 June 1908 ... could that be an indication for visiting the Kadettenkorps beforehand? His brother Max received ÖM3K (also as Hauptmann), maybe the list confused this and was later revised?

I don't know how you do it ... just WOW and thank you! Seeing this, I do wonder, if Max was maybe originally Maximilian?!

Thank you, Dave! I must have read it somewhere, I wish I knew. But, maybe this derived from the fact, that his III. Bataillon/Infanterie-Regiments 88 was at the Westwall in 1939/40? Some sources have a wound badge (1918) in black. Can you verify this? Once again, thanks!

What a great info. Yes, GdI Karl Ernst Ludwig Lucian Rudolf von Viebahn was his uncle, as was Generalleutnant z. D. Friedrich Karl Hermann Georg von Viebahn (1840–1915) ... now I am getting unsure. Maybe he did have the Kriegshilfekreuz??? What is strange is, that the Reichswehr Rangliste not only listed it as "BK" in 1924 and 1925, but also in 1932. If it really was a mistake, one would think, that Max von Viebahn would have read and reported the "mistake"? Please let me know, if you happen to find an award for a "Hauptmann von Viebahn".

Gentlemen, I am looking for the WWI decorations (except for EK II and I) of Generalmajor Johann "Hans" Albert Hermann Gotthilf von Viebahn (1889–1977) from the Garde-Füsilier-Regiment, the younger brother of General der Infanterie Max Rudolf Fritz Gustav von Viebahn, their father was Generalleutnant Hermann Conrad Clemens Ferdinand von Viebahn. Maybe the Saxe-Meiningen Cross for Merit in War (SMK) like his brother?

Gentlemen, I am looking for the WWII decorations (except for the Spangen to his EK II and I) of Generalmajor Johann "Hans" Albert Hermann Gotthilf von Viebahn (1889–1977), the younger brother of General der Infanterie Max Rudolf Fritz Gustav von Viebahn, their father was Generalleutnant Hermann Conrad Clemens Ferdinand von Viebahn. Maybe an Infanterie-Sturmabzeichen? Maybe the KVK? Thanks!

According to the Gothaisches genealogisches Taschenbuch der briefadeligen Häuser, his name was Hans Albert Hermann Gotthilf von Viebahn. His older brother was General der Infanterie Max Rudolf Fritz Gustav von Viebahn, their father was Generalleutnant Hermann Conrad Clemens Ferdinand von Viebahn.
