A book has been published recently, by Dieter Schulze: "Das Grosse Buch der Deutschen Volkspolizei. Geschichten.Aufgaben. Uniformen", Das Neue Berlin, Berlin, 2006 (ISBN-9783360010803). It features a chapter on the 1945-1949 period, with illustrations and photographs. Hope this can hep.
Yes thank you. I'll look for this book.

Also notice the OD shoulder boards which are regulation. Dress boards were never worn by the NVA. Tho I will admit if you have the pink piped shoulder boards shown on ebay they will sell for a higher dollar value.

The two piece Black Panzer uniform is different than the standard black work uniform. Notice the length of the jacket. You will see alot of work uniforms on ebay that the seller has added the Panzer patch too. The work uniform comes with plain pants.
Also see the next, Black panzer overall's. Made for wearing over the dress uniform for tank repairs.

Hi KGS,
Could you please post a close up of the ribbon bar on the tunic you have posted in post #15?
Regards
Paul
Paul,
Uniform as long been sold. This was one of the last ones I bought from Bob Gowen in 1992. Ribbon bar isn't correct. Ribbons were a mix of NVA and Fire Fighter. Back then know one really knew what all the ribbons were. I gave $ 75 for the uniform with the ribbon bar, hat, shirt, tie, belt. And he told me it was all original.

Despite all of my looking, this is the only Civil Defence tunic I have been able to obtain.
I remember missing one on Ebay that was for an Oberst several years ago. I have been kicking myself every since. It was a beautiful Army Officer's tunic with the cuff title, Officer's Collar Tabs, and boards.
As you will notice, this summer tunic has a cuff title with equal wear to that on the tunic. The EM tab have the purple waffenfarbe. The boards are a bit strange, yet they are purple. The boards I am used to seeing are like the typical army boards, but with a purple waffenfarbe. Maybe this is some auxillary for the civil defense?
Lets see your Civil Defense uniform related items!
I have never seen a summer uniform with a cuff title. Is the jacket mdi or NVA coded?
I am sure you have seen many Border Guard and Stasi Summer uniforms on ebay. None have cuff titles.

Hello KGS,
thanks for showing us this fakes! they are of very low printed quality! any chance to see the reverse of the fake and original ones??? I have never seen one paper ribbon in real yet so I am wondering what do you mean with impressions showing on the back sides???
thanks!
The scan of the backside wouldn't turn out correctly. When the fakes are mounted in the bar, they are very hard to tell without a very close look.
The impressions are lines if the pressing of the design, they can be seen and felt.
