    1. yes I know, since 1941 the monarchie doesn't excist, however I wondered if the order still excisted for a while, I saw a late World war 2 picture with a German officer wearing a neck cross of this order, therefore I thought it might have excisted for a while, or the german was awarded it before 1941.
    2. both thanks for the info, it's very helpfull. Nice collection you have there Milan! do you also know if the order still excists? if not, since when. I'm trying to buy a picture from the 2nd World War showing a German officer with a 2nd or 3th class grade of this order around his neck, therefore I think it still excisted after the king was gone in 1941.
    3. hello gents, nice medal! also a nice citadel up there in Deva Kevin! can you tell more about it? (I know, off topic) kind regards, Roeland
    4. PS, could someone give me the sizes of the order? what size have the grand-cross medal and the 2nd class medal. I noticed there are 5 classes, from which the 2nd, 3th and 4th all look like a neck cross. What is the difference between them? I also saw a difference between them, the 2nd class is gilt, the others aren't, is there a way to recognise them, perhaps different size? kind regards, Roeland
    5. hello gents, I'm wondering if the order still excists? I believe that it wasn't a kingdom no more from 1941 because of the WW2. and of course much later Yugoslavia fell apart. what happened to the order, did it still excist after WW2, however not as a royal order? kind regards, Roeland
    6. I see I have made an error in the topic title, it says 4th and 5th regiment. it should be: 4th Batailion of the 5th Regiment. thanks
    7. Hello gents, I am often asked by people to look up information about Dutch soldiers, their relatives, in my large collection of military magazines. This week I've looked up information for a man whom's father is in bad health.I've given him the picture and info I was able to find. The father lost the original pictures, therefore he went very emotional when his son got new ones from me and was able to make an album about his days in the army. However he also asked me if I have information about the 4th bataillion from the 5th regiment. His father was a soldier(a WW2 veteran, in service untill the late 1960's) that went to Indie (Indonesia, a former Dutch colony) on the 14th of February 1947 with the ship called: ss kota baroe. I would like to ask the help of GMIC members if they can tell me the history of these regiments, and perhaps especially about the events from this regiment during the polititional actions. thank you very much for the help! kind regards, Roeland
    8. thanks for your answer Paul, very interesting to hear you are a real ww2 veteran! I appreciate it.
    9. thanks for the answers! So if I understand correct, there are so many variations and private purchases that we can't give a specific measurement for the order and it has been decorated a lot so you can't give a specific number. I'll sure buy the book this month! I already have a knight, bought it for 30 Euro a while ago, this week I've bought a commanders cross 1870 type for 200 euro.
    10. Hello, I would like to know if anybody can give me information about the Legion d'honneur. I would like to know the sizes of the grades from this order and how much of them are awared. thank you for the information! any other information or remarks are also welcome. kind regards, Roeland
    11. Hello, I came across this medal which I'm interested in. The seller claimes it to be the Grand cross of the house order from Hessen. is that correct and is it an original? thanks for the info. kind regards, Roeland
    12. sorry for the off-topic, the site you gave, I don't understand the prices. http ://boutique.monnaiedeparis.fr/is-bin/I...p;Boutique=B2C like this Legion d'honneur does this mean the shipping and handling costs 137,96 euro?
    13. thanks for the information about the organisation and the link to the site, I'll write them a letter in French, I think I'll manage. Veterean, you say you are one of the survivors, where you a soldier during the 2nd World War?
    14. I think 10 dollar is a good price, in my country(the netherlands which is next to Belgium) you can buy it for about 5 or 6 euro, sometimes even 10 euro, so 10 US dollar doesn't look to bad for a country that far away.
    15. I think everyone has made that kind of mistake, I know I have. Sometimes things look military and a seller on eBay has a great story about it, when you do some research there is nothing special about it besides being old.
    16. yes I know, I just wanted to point out that it is still often represented in military collections. probably because it is cheap and there are a lot of them, in the Netherlands you can buy one for 2-3 euro. cheers
    17. indeed, I must say that I still see it in almost every collection from people who collect belgian military medals. I have this one as well.
    18. hello, besides living in the Netherlands, I also live in France, very near Oradour-Sur-Glane (famous for the SS slaughter in WW2), so I've been there often. this year I bought this from a woman who's husband was a member of the resistance in the Haute-Vienne, I bought it near Oradour. The medal is in a box with name, and also with a miniature. besides sharing the nice medal, I would also like to know if anybody can tell me more about; -the receiver, I would like to know more about his life (date of birth, perhaps date of death, where he lived etc.),his carreer (a resistance member of also a soldier?) and if he has more decorations, any other information welcome. -the medal itself, I know it is from the ANACR, the national veteran resistance members association, but that is all I know. Any other information is very welcome. The name of the receiver is Renee Berigaud, a veteran combattant of 1939-1945, I don't know if I have the name correct as I can't read the IG part very well. thanks for any information! I very much appreciate helping me to correctly display the item and protect a piece of history from being forgotten. kind regards, Roeland
    19. here's another picture from the frame with medals:
    20. Just received the frame!!!! here's the picture: he's younger here, but I think it's the same person. I also think that the stripes on his arm are the 8 front bars. In the picture he also has the lion on the ribbon of the Croix de guerre. What's the lanyard for? any more information about him? on his date of birth etc. thanks. kind regards, Roeland
    21. I have a quick question, looking at the pictures the core is attached to the cross itself and not a separate part from the silver cross halves. Therefore i would like to know, since I never had a first class myself, but want to buy one: Do they exist from multiple part like a 2nd class one? kind regards, Roeland P.S. sorry for going off topic.
