Heer Frank & Reif Semi-hollow Panzer Badge
Reini posted a topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Hello, This is only the second Panzer Badge I've owned and I can't find another example anywhere. It seems to be made of zink and the maker mark is right on. I am certain it is genuine. Does anyone know if these are rare , relative to other makers of this badge? Thanks for any help! Best Kurt -
Thanks! Yes, this is the badge from those photos. I was pretty sure it was a good bet because of the distinctive rivet to the left of the hinge. It was an exact match and I couldn't find a difference in the two anywhere else. Best Kurt

Luftwaffe 3 Rivet Osang Ground Assault Badge

If you see one , please post a link. I cannot find one like this anywhere. Best Kurt -
Thanks for the info! As for the wear , you are correct. For instance , the inner circle in the 'wheel' at the front of the gun , which cannot be seen in the photo , is indeed visible under a loupe. I have measured it and came up with: W - 1.75 inches or 44.5mm H - 2.25 inches or 57.2mm Weight - 31.4 grams These are very close and the lengths are off due to conversion. A gram off on the weight doesn't concern me. I am certain this is a good one now. Thanks again! Best Kurt

Hello, I've just bought this and was hoping it is the elusive B&NL Flak Badge...unmarked , of course. I'm looking for opinions , good or bad. Thanks , as always! Best Kurt

Luftwaffe 3 Rivet Osang Ground Assault Badge

Peter, Thanks! The rivets are much different than on the single-rivet model. The eagle is very , very close. There are certain parts that are exactly like other Osang eagles I've seen , right down to the line that comprise the feathers. I will try to get more information. Best Kurt -

Hello, I am thinking of buying this. I have found some examples I believe are fake , but this one's maker mark is a dead ringer for an Osang mark. I cannot find anything quite like it out there , but I must say I believe it to be genuine. I was wondering if anyone has seen one of these or knows anything about this piece. I thank everyone in advance for any help. Best Kurt

Luftwaffe CASED LUFTWAFFE AWARDS
Reini replied to Reini's topic in Wehrmacht Medals, Decorations & Awards
Here's one more showing the pencil note that one often sees in these cases with the inserts removed. I assume these notes were for keeping the proper pieces with the proper hardware. Please, let me know what you guys think. I can add that this piece has the proper 'smell' to it , too , but you will have to take my word for that! Best Kurt -

Here is a good shot of the spring mechanism on the clasp. The arrow is pointing to the strip of material which covers the mechanism. It is this strip to which the insert is still partially glued and that is why it is raised in the photo. -

In this one , the arrow points to one of the glue spots. You can see the proper brown coloring of the glue around the edges. -

And now some of the interior. In the first one , you can see the wooden base insert. The arrow points to it. -

Maybe I can help with doubts on the case. I've taken some more closeups. The insert is still partially glued , but I've dislodged it and have gotten some pretty good shots of the inside. I always welcome any kind of challenge to any of my items as it keeps me on my toes and I still have so much to learn. Here is another of the clasp. Best Kurt -

This case just arrived today and I now have a home for my one and only PO. I don't even know if the Unkown Maker badges came in this style case , but they look good together. This is the only case I have with the embossed line around the lid. The insert will come about halfway out and I can see the cardboard and wood pieces in there. It is just about mint. Best Kurt
