A recent addition. I'll be sending in a research request for this one shortly. It looks like it is probably for WWII wounds.

Hi All!
This was the second ever soviet award I purchased, a documented Order of the Red Banner of Labor to Shamam Israelovna Iritzyan, a woman of Armenian origin.

Thank you for sharing this very well rounded collection!! Can you please post some closeups of the Ostfront medal(front and back) with the button?
Thanks Paul!
I hope these pictures are ok. If you would like any more, just let me know.

And finally, my collection of fifes and piccolos (well, piccolo at the moment). As a Revolutionary and Civil War reenactor and fifer, I think it was only natural I started collecting these. The ones I have were made by Crosby (Civil War period), and George Cloos, Crosby's apprentice who later started his own business in about the 1880's. The piccolo is marked "Nach H. F. Mayer," a flute maker of German origin. I am currently looking into purchasing German fifes made during WWI. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get one yet (close but no cigar), but I'll find one soon.
Once again, help appareciated with some of the German stuff. Thanks and enjoy!

An Order of the Red Banner of Labor and Bravery Medal (1965) to two different people. Also some undocumented single awards. See http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2418...mp;#entry229323 for those.
Research is pending on just about all of these. However, with the delays that seem to be plaguing research these days, I don't expect to see results for months.

Now some of my favorites, Soviet groups to Guards Senior Lieutenant Trofimov and Guards Major Grigory Didysenko.
See http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2418...mp;#entry229353 for Trofimov and http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=22055 for Didysenko.

One of the Ostfront medals has some sort of button on it. Anyone know what that is? Also, is there a way to keep it in such good shape?

Hi All!
I figured it was about time I posted my collection, so here it is!
I admit, I don't know what some of this stuff is, especially the German items from my father's old collection. Any help is appreciated!
Enjoy!

A nice one, Rick. On behalf of the (Russian) illiterates among us, many thanks!
And lovely item you have there, Charles. :envy:
I agree! Really nice medal and great citation. Congrats!
It's a pity he wasn't more highly decorated though, considering how successful he was. He at least deserved a Red Banner, or at the very least an OGPW 1st class.

I think Ed, he might be wondering about this one..... I sure don't know what it is.
JC
I should have enlarged it a bit....
That's a Polish order "Builder of People's Poland," I think communist Poland's highest award.
