    2. Here is the latest in my collection. A Hungarian Bocskai type, Captains field cap.
    3. The National Defence Cross, (Nemzetvedelmi Kereszt). Founded December 11. 1940 and awarded for protection and presevation of the Hungarian nation during comunist hardships (Council Republic in 1919), and for keeping the loyalty to the Hungarian nation in parts the was lost in the treaty of Trianon. The text " A Haz??rt " means For the homeland and is the same as on the Firecross (T?zkereszt).
    4. Here?s my Boczan, Vit?z badge. Note that the sword on the Boczan badges is made of silver..
    5. Here?s my suggestion of the medalbar on the officer. The order of the VIT?Z would be placed on the left breast pocket and not were the medalbar is. And to me the medals looks like the order of Franz Joseph and the Carl I Troop cross. P?ter
    6. The picture is most certainly a group of cadetts from a military university. "The Ludovika" in Budapest or some significant. The two officers in the front and the students with the various collar tabs. This was the grades they recived after each year. The ones without any marks are the "acceptabe", the ones with a single line was the second and the doubble line was the best. There was a combination as well with a line and a button but it not seen on this photo. Note the belts on the cadetts are not the officer-one with two pinholes.
    7. I recived my copy a few days ago. It?s really a amazing book filled with great photos and useful details for us who collects Hungarian WW2 militaria! I got my copy sent from Hungary by my family but copies can be orderd from www.huniform.com . Greetings P?ter Nyitray
    8. My grandfather was not a Vit?z. The badge is just a part of my collection. By the time i took that photo of the collection one of my Vit?z badges was on the displayshelf next to the miniature pins. Since then i moved it to another shelf. P?ter
    9. Photo of a private of The Hungarian Gendarmerie, known as the Csendőrs?g.
    10. Photograph by Escher K?roly. Prisoners arriving home from the Soviet Union, summer 1947.
    11. Here is some Hungarian army equipment that belonged to my gradfather. An original B?zard Compass.
    12. Here's a close-up of my grandfather's medal bar. The medal bar from the left; Two Signum Laudis, silver and bronze for military achievement, given to officers. The red trifold with swords shows that they were awarded during war time. The third is the "Fire cross" with swords. It was founded in 1941 and was given for three month of front service at the eastern front. The one without the swords were given to military personnel not serving at the front line. Versions without the wrath were given to operational zone non-combatants. The fourth medal is the memorial medal given to people who lost fathers or spouses in the First World War. The medal with the blue trifold is for the recapture of Transylvania in 1940. The one after with the yellow and blue trifold is the recapture of the lost territories in Yugoslavia (the Bacska and Banat area, today's Vojvodina region in Serbia). The last one is the Bulgarian memorial medal given to people who lost fathers or spouses in the First World War, fighting with the Austro-Hungarian army. (Allied with Bulgaria) My grandfather was given this medal with a black ribbon according to the certificate from 1944.
    13. He never got any German awards at all... The only foregin award he recived was a Bulgarian memorial award (1915-18) given to him as a son of an officer who served in the Austro-Hungarian Army in the First World war. Thet award is seen the most left in the medalbar.
    14. The uniform and the medalbar is my grandfather?s. This photgraph of him is taken in 1945.
    15. Display of some more Austro-Hungarian medals and The Hungarian memorial medal of the First World War.
    16. My grandfather?s collection of medals from his cadet days at the Ludovika Military academy. In front is his graduations ring from 1937.
