These where found in the salty northsee Rob.The Belgian coast is litterd with wrecks from WWI and WWII.As to the condition of the finds.If thy are in de mud the oxygen in the water has no grip on them and the mud act as a cocoon protecting the artefacts.Even clothing is protected. If its on top of the bottom thats another thing and exposed to the water its eaten allive in our cold northsee.

    3. The inspection stamp and inspector initials. on the other side is a little swastica and number . Also some porcelan and glas where found. Greets taucher
    4. I know the ship dit not sink earlyer than 2/43 because i found a little copper bottle from a rescue jacket with the inspection stamp on it.
    5. The inside The coin is Belgian.There whas also a label whit the makers name and adres in it but this could not be saved.The streetname whas:Strasse ohne name The makers name escapes me but a have written it down somewhere.

    7. Hey Rob and Paul, A picture of the back It whas found in a trawler who whas badly broken up.I think it whas a vorpostenboot. I know its a buckle from the reichsmarine but not uncommon to be used during WWII.
    8. Mike, the type at the top has a magnetic core and a non magnetic needle. So is it a fake? Can you show me a example of the one who is magnetic with the different hardware. regards Vince
    9. So motorhead what you are saying is that a one piece EK1 is always non magnetic? So if its magnetic is it a fake?
    10. Hello Bill, Interresting to see your ek has no maker either. I wonder if anybody here has a one piece construction with maker marks on it. I for one find it strange that there are no maker marks around on the one piece ek's. Id ads to the mystery of these ek's. One piece ek's are also starting to rise in price in comparison to the more common 3 piece ek's like the K.O.'s and i wonder why. Something whe are overlooking? vince
    11. Ok,but what kind off material are whe talking about. are they struck in plain iron and must they be magnetic. Are ther other alloys used to struck them? I seen EK's in copper. Mine looks silver on the back and the pin is not magnetic.

    14. I know there is a difference in construction between the EK1's. Is this one so more valuable than a K.O. ek because of his markings on the back,or his construction? I see the average market price for a K.O. is about 150 to 200 dollars. What would be the market price for this one,ore at least a correct price? thanks taucher
