    1. that`s a great group - the Alsen and D?ppel crosses are not very often seen.... and then on the bar and together with the documents!!!!
    2. Hi Brian, I will check my collection and my photo archive for a bar with this combination... Heiko
    3. it is the same thing with the Iron Crosses for southwest in 1914 - they had no ec`s there and wanted to decorate their soldiers.... what to do? Give the women some work... they made iron crosses of cloth for sewing them on the uniform!!! Great and ultra rare pieces - I still need one for my own collection
    4. no no, I mean the southwestafrika medal from our bar.... I have seen documents and passes, papers and pictures with it - all from soldiers who were 100% ONLY 1914 in DSWA and not during the normal award time 1904-1908... maybe they had some hundreds left somewere in Windhoek or Karibib and gave them to the soldiers in ww1 - I don`t know...
    5. hehe.... no way guys - it is a great misunderstanding that the southwest medal was only for the years 04-06. This medal was also awarded for soldiers in DSWA during ww1 in 1914!!! It is unbelievable but I have seen it in military papers and on reservist documents.... I don`t know if these were official awards or some kind of "giveaways"...
    6. Rick, I always have these "general feelings" too when I see a bar like this.... have you seen my medal bar from the running 70/71 thread???? What do you think about this one? (I know the owner... can you get him?) Heiko
    7. "widows cross" could have been possible for soldiers as well if they had lost a brother or father.... but in combination with the other war awards on this bar he must have had a normal hc with swords AND a widows cross or ONLY a hc with swords... Heiko
    8. here is a very interesting bar, could someone give me please any information on the last two awards - 2 ribbons and one cross. There is no hook on the back for the last order so I don`t know what this ribbon is for.... thank you Heiko
    9. one more, very interesting with the EK (black-white) and honourcross without swords!!!! The DSWA-medal is a ultra rare type made of pure silver AND with the Stempelschneider Schultz (makers mark) !!!
    10. arrrgghhhh.... Jens, please dont push me into Oldenburg bars, I have no time...
    11. Hello all, @ Stogie: "Hi Heiko, still in pain?? I hope you are OK. The last group of 3.... is that the set from Ziege with the matching miniature?? " No this is not the one from Zeige, I had it since some years.... @Bob: "Heiko, how close are you having every battle clasp for the 1870-1871 War?" Bob, I think there are some more of the official ones missing, but not very much... the problem is that I am collecting ALL german imperial battle clasps, that means for the 70/71 medal, for the Baden medal, China medal, Southwestafrika medal, colonial medal, Kyffh?user medal, veteran org. clasps, regimental clasps, EK clasps and so on... I think if I want to have ALL possible clasps I need to get some 200 more... (and I have allready some hundreds... Here is a beautiful example of the 1895 jubilee clasp for the 25th aniversary of the 70/71 war - very rare!!! Heiko
