While looking for Bulgarian Medals I found this little group with the Krieger Verdienst Med
Since there where about 7000 issued to Austrians I wonder how many could have been awarded to the quite small Bulgarian Army in WW1 ?
I love it already..... my preciousssssssssssssssssss

And just to confuse things a little bit ,
Here is two more GTO Badges !
Both seems to be First Class but the one in the middle is only about 50% in size of the normal one?
I also have a Booklet for the small one, it is numbered on the back with 347
The one on the right is on needle! And it sure looks like its orginal made, in size its beteen the other two....
Seems like we have a lot to learn about theese badges

Great Thread Stogieman!
The medal showed by Anatoly in post 36 is an ULTRA Rare KDS version of the standard medal, I have never seen one in real life and they probably cost a LOT of $$$$$$$$ if you find one.
Myself is hunting the Long Service KDS medals 10 years and 20 years and thoose are quite hard to find
Big Thanks for the Great Threads about Bulgarian Orders/medals

Hi, I just got this picture of some officers of Flieger Abteilung 13
One has the Bavarian Pilot badge and one has the Observer Badge if I am right ?
at least three of them has the EK 1
One the back the names are written but at some time this pic was glued into a album and right where the names are
Is it possible to identfy any of the officers by the names on the back?
Anyone has any info about FA 13 ?
First pic is of the backside with the half destroyed names
All the best from Sweden

The Order of Bulgaria 1st Class with the old State Crest but in one piece? The 2nd class is of two piece construction
but shouldn?t the first class look the same or am I just still sleeping?
Very nice very rare bar ! Why do we see so few bars from Bulgaria ? Did the officers use the small ribbon bars to their uniforms?
All the best from Sunny Sweden

And the collection keeps on growing !
Thanks to a fellow collector who tip me of this card I now got another Torpedoed ship !
This is ATLANTIQUE built in 1900 for the line France-South America
Was torpedoed on the 9th of May 1918 between Malta and Bizerte , but managed to get to Bizerte, the captain got a French order Knight Legion of Honour!
And she survived the war and was at last scrapped in December 1933 in UK.

Very Nice Stogieman !
Why did Romania, BUlgaria, Hungary, Poland ? All got their orders in different beautiful boxes but their big brother
USSSR gave them away in most cases , in nothing at all?
I looooove boxes, may the box lovers of the world unite !

Great Idea !
Here you have some numbers to start with, maybe we can see a pattern if we get many enough?
Type II 022639 28 April 1955
054593 1957 (cant see date)
Type III 031064 18 Jan 1958
50803 29 Dec 1959
066892 29 Dec 1959
092548 21 May 1966
104468 15 Dec 1969
164657 16 April 1971
Type IV 000868 7 Oct 1971
005638 26 April 1982
055633 28 may 1975
034709 19 May 1978
081187 27 March 1981
You can clearly see some system in the numbers , a couple seem out of line but I suppose there always be a few that are left in storage by some reason and used "to late"
Hope this helps, if you want I see if I got more books , I think I have a couple more
All the best

And here is the inside, the numbers look better in real life, and they are definitive written with an ink pencil ( not ball-pen)
But when its done is impossible to say, but it looks old when magnified.
I think theese was awarded in Peacetime for helping secure the borders (whatever that means?)
But they are really nice !
I wonder when they stopped giving them numbers??
And how many was awarded ?????
Hmm a lot to find out
