    1. Hi,

      What about this guy?

I bought this pic because of the "Gallipoli Star" and his KriegsMarine Uniform so I thought he was

maybe a former member of SMS Goeben or something like it.

And today the pic arrived and suprise ! :speechless1:

Hes ribbon bar consists of Karl Truppen Kreuz - HEK - Austrian 1915-18 - ?? - Hungary war medal and ??

A Austrian in Turkey? with no combat awards ecept for a Turkey Star?

What do you say Gentlemen, any ideas?

      Christer

    2. Next one is a Ship from the famous White Star Line RMS Cymric.

Bulit 1897 and 12552 tons. Torpedoed by German Submarine U 20 NW of Fastnet 8th May 1916 and sunk the following day

with the loss of 5 lives.

      :(

And Yes, the submarine U-20 was the same submarine that sunk Lusitania.

I keep looking for more unlucky ships

    3. Hi all!

      I don?t Think I Have showed this little bar did I ?

As I get older my memory gets shorter

If I read it right it is EK - Preuss VK - Oldenburg (FA kr or Red Cross?) - Braunschweig KvK NC - LS - 1897 ?

      What do you think ? a doctor from a Oldenburg/Brusnwick Rgt ?

Sorry for the blurred pic of backside, I try again to scan it better if anyone wish.

All the best from Imperial Sweden!

    4.

Here is another new badge in my collection! (Yes my wife thinks I am crazy)

But I think this was so nice , a membership badge for Bulgarian-Soviet Friendship from 1954 III Class, theese badges exited only for 10 years with Stalins

picture and the third class was of course most common. But Here it is complete with a Doc !! Much more fun

And now when my wife walked away I can assure you that I am going to look for the rest of badges ...... hi hi hi There are six of them, 5 to go

      All the best christer

    5. And one last pic, it is the same grave but some time has passed, a new grave has been arranged beyond this one and the words on the cross has beginning to fade away, maybe the widow travelled to France after the war and visited the grave?

I like theese small simply groups because they tell a lot about the man who fight on the battlefields and the woman left behind.

I wonder what became of Anton daughters?
