Another Picture from Ravensburg , the officer sitting in the middle is a vet from 1870 I belive?
He seems to have a row of medals, Anton is sitting to the officers right in the pic.
But I was misstaken about the Rgt it is not 122 yet it says 123 on the shoulder boards.
I suppose Anton in going to the Front in France soon after this.

Now we have reached Sept 1915 and Anton , with a cigar in hand is being photographed with his friends in Fusielier Rgt 122, at Ravensburg
Looks like the war is far away for now.

Foto taken in Waldsee, not dated summer 1915?

Unteroffizier Anton Frick killed in action on May 26, 1917
From April 15 to May 20 the Regiment took part in the Spring Offensive near Arras. It is quite possible that Anton was wounded during this action and died at a Field hospital near Sissonne. The Etappe of the W?rttemberg 26. Division was stationed there.
From May 21 to August 14, 1917 his Regiment took part in Defensive actions in Flanders and Artois
Anton Frick is burried at the cemetary in Sissonne (France) grave location: Block 7 Grab 519
I will check the Regimental History later today for more info.
Regards, Hardy
Thanks Hardy!
Then here is a short and sad story about a soldier, father and cigar smoker .
First picture is of Hes Wife Elise Frick and their two daughters, very blurry stamp but I think its 1913/14 all dressed up for the adventure.

Thanks again that solved the mystery with my somewhat wounded photo!
I just love this forum, its always someone out there who has the answers

And after looking at this baaaad pic for an hour I think he has a Hohenzollern ? Neck order with Crown ?

Komtur, Thanks for the info and pricing. I have also found the 1918 Navy around 100 euros and the 1924 Army 40-60 euros. I will probable do the 1918 Navy RL first and I think it will be more in demand.
I would go for the 1918 Navy !!
Great idea

My small collection is growing!!
Just bought two more medals, one 1914/15 Star and a Victory medal to a R.P Creswell 1st Stoker in Royal Navy
and after a little searching in the archives....
YES !! Reginald Percy Creswell was ombord the Battleship HMS Marlborough in Jutland 1916 !!
Hmm now I am lost , I have now four medals to Royal navy members all participating in the Batlle of Jutland.
on three different ships: HMS Castor, HMS Princess Royal and HMS Marlborough
The search goes on for more RN medals !!

Unusual Award-paper for Honor Cross
What is so strange about this paper? Well its issued by the German Consulate in Apenrade ,Hmm to a Karl Hellweg in Sonderburg
and he is to get an Honor cross for fighters , and hes military duty is shown in his "milit?rpass" so whats unusual about that?
Sonderburg ! That?s in Denmark !! But in 1914-1918 Sonderburg belonged to Germany (Schleswig-Holstein) but after a
public vote in 1920 it was decided that it would belong to Denmark.
So this guy lived in Gemany 1918 and in Denmark 1935 but still got the Honorcross.
Interesting, its the only paper to a Danish ( well, ex german) I seen

And the End !!!
Anton Frick was killed by a "Granatvolltreffer" in 26th May 1917.
He left his wife Elise and the two girls Johanna and Karoline.
he was buried in France and I suppose it was some kind of war grave.
