nedkelly1973 replied to a topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
Hi Darrell, as far as info on the So.Rho.Vol goes I've found the best books are the 2 Vol by Hickman "Rhodesia served the Queen" Vol 1 is up to the relief of Mafeking and Vol2 is all after that. Its not a cheep set to get hold of though! Cheers Glenn. -
Hi Guys, Can I please get some info on WW1 Flugbuch. I understand there were 2 one for training and 1 for opperational service. Was the opperational flugbuch of a standardised format by 17-18 or were there many variations of these? I would be very grateful if anybody has an opperational book if they could post some pics of the cover and a page or 2 of the interior as this is on my collection wants list and I'm suprised at the lack of info on WW1 aviation Paperwork. thanks Glenn.

Hi everyone, Is there a person/company/museum/institution that you can buy copys of Geramn gun cam footage if you know the number of the tape you are after? I'm starting to study a fighter pilot who got 3 victories in late 44 with JG 300 and I thought that it would be a good addition to the paperwork! the film is C.2027 if that helps anybody. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area-I wasn't sure where to put it. thanks Glenn.

Can anyone please recommend a good rference book on the general technical overview of the German Imperial airfoce please? what I am after is a book containing all the Squadrons and training abts-where they were stationed and when and what planes they had? I guess a WW1 verson of a book like the WW2 "luftwaffe data " book is what I'm after. thanks Glenn.

Hi Rick, sure, its Karl Heinrich Herman Schnitger. He went as Heinrich Schintger. its a nice set but after talking about dealers adding on things unfortunatly the photo was not with the group and when I querried them they said "we just added a photo to the website togive people an idea of the type of plane he flew". thats a bit annoying as I thought it would be neat to make a model of the plane with the items. I'll post some pics when I can as I will need some help with the types of planes he trained in. I've got 90% but the others are a bit obscure. Seems his later flights were in an albatros CV and all his other plane were also 2 seaters so the photo but me astray as he never was in the type pictured!!! I thought something might be up when I googled Albatros and got the same photo as on the document listing but I thought it might be a common postcard. Ow well... I'll try and post some pics soon. Thanks Glenn.

Hi Guys and Girls. I'm new to this game of collecting Imperial Aviation memorabilia and I am concidering buying a Soldbuch and Flugbuch to a pilot who was in (A) 217 squad for the last couple of months of the war. In his Soldbuch it is entered that he was in the "nebenstehender abt" of the squadron. Am I correct in guessing that his job was to fly as a protection pilot to an observer plane in an Artillery obs unit? thanks Glenn.
