    1. I have but a couple of medal bars with awards related to Luftwaffe service, this one being the larger of the two. What I genuinely enjoy about this medal bar is that the recipient not only was awarded the 1914 EK II, but that it also has the accompanying 1939 EK II Spange attatched to its related Iron Cross, plus the individual saw service in the east, and in North Africa.

      Very nice bars everyone!

      Frank,

That is the first LW Medal bar I have seen with the African Service Medal! love.gif

I am still without a LW medal bar... One day... love.gif

    2. The helmet itself is fine - it looks to be a fiberhelm by the looks of it.? As for the shields, they, too could be original, but of course it would be impossible to tell when they were attached.? There is photographic evidence of shields being worn on paradehelms - I think there is a famous photo of Rommel with one...

      Don

Rommel... that would be something if it was... unsure.gif

How is the shield attached? Are there prongs that go through the fiber shell? If so, can you post a photo of this(if it is even possible with the liner present).

      Best regards

    3. I feel that the best all around Assualt Rifle is the M16 for it's accuracy, lack of recoil, the three round bust(for controlled bursts of auto), and weight.

We in the Coast Guard are getting away from the Beretta as well. We are moving toward the Sig .40(I thought that all of the branches were going to that as well)

    4. EREL leather stamp.

      Thanks !

I have never seen anything like it. It looks like the emblems from one of those tropical pith helmets.

I thought that the parade helmets used the standard Decals and the only real difference is that the helmet itself was made of a lighter material such as aluminum.

I am no expert, I am only going off what I have read and seen in the past. Maybe someone with more insight can step in with some clarification.

    5. I can't quite make out the language of the outer ring-- it's not Russian, so one of the other "official" Republics of the time inside the USSR. One word of Cyrillic shows on the inner line: "Okrug" or "District" so that identified whicever of then then dozen or so "Military Districts" this was from.

      [attachmentid=11236]

Anybody recognize what language this is, for the issuing Republic? I've never seen any issued except in Russian.

      Rick,

How many districs used other languages than Cyrillic ? The cannot be more than a couple! I will have to pull out a map!

      Best regards
