    3. Greetings All. I have a medal that I believe is the Syria Medal Order of the Palestine - Israel War 1948, but I am not sure. I would appreciate AS MUCH information about this medal as possible; first verifying that my identification is correct, what specific organization issued it, who qualified to receive it, when it was created, who made it, etc. I was told by the seller it was made in France in 1951. Every tidbit of information will be useful. I have attached a Low Resolution photo of the medal here on the forum, but I have two High Resolution Medals on PhotoBucket, at the following link: http://s752.photobuc...he%20Palestine/ Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Take care. Linas
    4. Greetings All. I have a pair of medals that I believe are Syria Medal Order of Bravery for the 1964 Arab-Israeli War , but I am not sure. I would appreciate AS MUCH information about this medal as possible; first verifying that my identification is correct, what specific organization issued it, who qualified to receive it, when it was created, who made it, etc. Also, I have two - one smaller than the other. Are they 1st Class and 2nd Class? Also, on the larger one there is a Star - what does this mean. Every tidbit of information will be useful. I have attached a Low Resolution photo of the smaller medal here on the forum, but I have three High Resolution photos on PhotoBucket, at the following link: http://s752.photobuc...20of%20Bravery/ Thanks in advance for any information you can provide. Take care. Linas

    8. Hello All. I don't know if this is allowed by the GMIC, but this badge is now listed on eBay. My pseudo is LINASL. The link to the page is as follows: RAR Royal Thailand Navy Command and Staff College Badge Item number : 190431258546 Thank you to all who helped identify this beautiful badge. Take care. Linas
    9. Thanks Michael. I hope to get some more detailed information. Hope others have ideas as well. Take care. Linas
    10. Lorenzo - I do enjoy the research. And I very much enjoy the collaborative dialogue on this forum. Everyone is nice and full of fascinating information. But I also need to make a living to feed my family - selling medals is MY source of income. I wish I had the luxury to collect and keep (like you apparently do), but having to sell is MY "sad" reality. Please don't judge me for you don't even know me. Also, I am quite sure there are many other members of GMIC who use the combined expertise of many collectors to help them identify what they have before they sell. Linas
    11. Hello Lorenzo. I am starting to get confused. According to Owain's information, the Wounded medal is 35 mm in diameter, whereas the Achievement and Valor medals are 42 mm in diameter. The medal I have is 42 mm in diameter; so how can it be the Wounded medal? Somewhere there is a disconnect. I am now more lost than before. I definitely need assistance. Thanks. Linas
    12. Owain - is my medal the one for Achievement or Valor? Linas
    13. Owain - sorry for mispelling your name at the end. Forgive me. Linas
    14. Well, well Owain, a pleasure to hear from you again. Thank you so much for your input. I will add some of the important parts to my desciption, so when I try to sell it on eBay this weekend, I will sound like an expert. But like last time, I will give proper notice that my information comes from this forum. Take care Owin. Linas
    15. Hello Hugh. Great info. Can you please help me with the acronyms? Not my area of expertise. RTN Command and Staff college - what is RTN? junior course (LCDR) - what is LCDR? senior course (CDR / CAPT) - what is CDR / CAPT? I would really appreciate it. Thanks. Linas
    16. Kevin, you may be right. I'm just reaching for straws. Is there some type of "Miscellaneous" section on this site? Thanks. Linas
    17. Hello Stellan. I think you are correct. It is probably Freemasons, but maybe someone out there knows for sure. Thank you. Linas
    18. FANTASTIC Dave. Thank you so much. Do you know how old YOUR pin is? It could help me date the one I have. Also, in your estimate, what is the value of such a pin? Just a rough estimate is good for me. Again Dave, I really want you to know that I appreciate your input VERY MUCH ! Regards, Linas
    19. Thanks guys for all your brain power at work. I guess it is either a very obscure Thai breast star or a fantasy pice. Hope to find out for certain some day. Linas
    20. Hello Richard. As far as I can tell, yes. I just bought it and do not have it in my possession yet. Any ideas? Thanks. Linas
