Hello Gordon, There are absolutely no marks on the reverse - that, of course, is the problem. Thanks. Linas -
Unidentified Unknown European (?) Air Force Badge

Thank you François. I did as you suggested. Take care. Linas -
Greetings All. I just bought an apparent air force badge from an auction in Spain, but I don't believe it is Spanish. Please see the photo attached. Can you please help me identify this badge + any other information you may have (like era, rank, etc.)? All assistance would be appreciated. Thank you. Linas

Many thanks for the information Jeff. Any way to distinguish between a Vietnamese-made version and a US one? Thanks again. Linas

Thanks Paul. Hope to get more info. Cheers. Linas

Hello Paul. Thank you. Do you know from what era? Was it under French colonialism, during the war with the French, post-French, Vietnam War with US, or after. This would really help. Also, what do you mean "a bit of a catch"? Is it rare? Please let me know. Take care. Linas

Greetings All, I am not an expert in Asian medals, but I believe the one in the attached photo IS Asian. Can you please tell me from what country, what it is called and for what it was awarded? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Linas

Hello All, I just bought this badge on a Spanish auction site. Even though it looks similar to a Polish pilot's badge, it is not. Is this a Spanish pilot's badge, or some other rank/specialist from Spain? Any info would be appreciated. Linas

Greetings all. I just purchased an Austro-Hungarian Empire (I believe) badge that I cannot identify - photo below (bad quality because it is off the seller's site and I do not have it yet to make a better picture). It appears to be a lapel badge, with the following engraved on the button tab "AD BELADA // VH. MARIAHILFERST 54 // WIEN" It is 40 mm x 39 mm. Can anyone help me identify what this is for? Is it military? Thank you. Linas

Greetings all. I just purchased a medal that appears to be from an Eastern or Southern European Monarchy-era country. I bought it in France, so I have no clue. Do you know the answer to three questions: 1. what country is this from? 2. is this military, civil, association, or costume jewelry? 3. what, if anything, was this awarded for? I only have the single photo because I do not have it in my possession yet. The reverse, though, is blank. Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks. Linas

Hello again Mervyn. As of yet I do not have the star in my possession. I bought it from a collector in Sweden, and he is sending it to me. Your 'stage prop' suggestion sounds interesting. From a military perspective then, this star has no value. But to a general medal collector, it may. And, I would assume it is rare - primarily because the customer base for medals as stage props is quite limited. Do you agree? Thanks. Linas

Hello Mervyn, Thank you for your reply. Actually, there is nothing written at the top - it is just a design of an upward and downward "u". It though is quite large, at 8.5 cm in diameter. I wish I can give you more information, but that is all I have. If you have some thoughts of its origin, please let me know. Take care. Linas

Hello Mike, Could this not be for some type of association? It seems to be a lot of work just for costume jewelry - especially considering that you have a similar one, but in green enamel. What would be the maker's incentive to produce multiple varieties and different colors? I do not necessarily disagree with you, but maybe these were custom made for some formal or informal group. Is that possible? Thanks. Linas

Greetings All. I just bought a breast star that appears to be British in origin, but I have no idea. Can you please look at the photos and let me know what I have? Or lead me down the right path. These are the best pictures I have for the moment (from seller's website). Haven't received it yet. Thank you. Linas

Hello all. I recently acquired this Breast Star in a Paris "Brocante" shop, but the dealer has no idea what it is for - not even if it is French. But it does have the Fleur-de-Lys between each star arm, which IS French. Please see the photos. I would appreciate if anyone can identify this Breast Star - both its country of origin and its name/purpose. Thanks. Linasl
