Hi Lorenzo, These were not more than a mere for the putting on walls in rooms inside the building of directorate, these consists the Emblem (or coat of arms of Dir of Iq. I.), Most of these you put in your collection and others may have, are looted from the building and then re-sale of them happened in Iraqi market by the theives. Hmm, I wish not to say more !!!. The order worn around the neck of Ottoman Sultan is Majidi Knight Order 2nd degree, and the Order worn over his shoulder is Osmanie Order (or as named in old turkish "Nishani Osmani"-this can be decided from his breast rose medal).All the medals & orders are Ottoman Turkish. These trays was made for the order of big Iraqi trader in that time , I do not know his name . In that time the ability of any Iraqi antique dealer to put suitable designs & orders but upon the agreement of the gov because the existed photos of Iraqi Leaders should be beautifull unless might be refused, is possible. hi Lorenzo, I do not have idea exactly what was the ribbon shape, but usualy Iraqi medals issued for sport either with one coloured ribbon made from nylon or silk and the late issues with Iraqi flag flag ribbon. this is a simple reply to your request. Thanx

This Medal for Club of Hunting & Horse Riding (or Horseware), and Uday loved horses in his early life & was good pistol shooter, but Americans shooted him well also and killed what a very worst man was, raped girls and kill every beutifull girl she had not obey his games, even in this club, he made it as the inttlegence and mature club for him. Two clubs were his own: this club & other Club called: Alwiyyah Club in Karadat-Baghdad. you see hoe devil was, do not cry on him.

On RH side Photo, its a photo of group from Iraqi Levy Battelion, whom joined fight against Kurdish Rebillion in North of Iraq & also fight in the side of Coalition against Axis in WWII, the Iraqi Levy Army task at that time was to prevent Iraqi oil pipes in Palestine against the Italian Air Force Bombing. See the feather on the hat of each fighter in this army, it is the sign by which this army known. also Australian army has the feather on hats of the soliders. thanx & cheers.

Yes, this bridge is standing up to date, its called "Al-Shuhada" Bridge. Al-Shuhada is the arabic word equals to " Martyers", this bridge located near Baghdadi Museum in its end in Risafa part of Baghdad. Attached photo of the bridge. Thanx.

It bears in centre the two first letters from Saddam's Name (ص first letter in " Saddam) &( ح first letter in " Hussein" ), both two arabic letters written in kufi arabic type of fonts. You see. May be these useful information but is this peace taken from the wall bottom or stairs in palace ???. Thanx & regards.

Hi Lorenzo, In this picture you attached before, shown was General Hussein Kamil (Saddam's Nephew & also husband of Saddam's daughter) was awarded by Saddam the following Iraqi orders and medals: Order of Qaddiseiyyah (with yellow Shoulder Ribbon) , Order of Rafidein (2 Rivers) military type 2nd degree (with red ribbon, neck worn), Order of Rafidein (2 Rivers) military type 3rd degree (with red ribbon , breast worn, 2 Bravery medals of Qaddeseiyyah (Iraq-Iran War)., one other medal not seen well. In this picture he was as a minister of military Indusrty , hope all is usefull. thanx.

Hi Lorenzo & thanks for these beautifull photos which you shared with us. I think this statute should not be destroyed because it considered as a peice of Iraqi army history & also as a piece of history for the Great Iraqi Sculpturer named " Khalid Al-Rahaal" , he was dead but burried in the same tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Saddam dead ang became bad history, but Iraqi army is still a pioneer army in middle east and the world. The Iraqi Army was founded on 6th of January 1921. Thanks

The Pic attached here was for General Adnan's Statue in Baghdad near to Al-Shuhada (martyers) Bridge, now the statue was not available. also General Adnan was granted the Order of hero of Qaddiseiyyah Battle. which is today considered as one of most rarest orders in Iraq. Thanx.

The Iraqi General Adnan Khair allah (Saddam's Cousin) was selected as minister of Defence in Iraq since 1979 and up to 1988 . When the Iraq-iran war 1980-88 ended, he was killed by destroying his helicopter plane in air in 1988, the truth of his kiling is still misterious up to date. Anyway he was granted through these years in Saddam's Era the following medals & orders: on Feb, 1, 1987 - Order of Two Rivers (Rafidein) military type 1st degree. on the same date above also granted - 5 Bravery Medals. on May, 30, 1988 - Order of Two Rivers (Rafidein) civil type 1st degree. on the same date above also granted - Order of Iraq-Iran War (Qadisseiyyat)1st degree & also 2 Bravery Medals. on September, 27, 1988 - 4 Bravery Medals. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the total was granted to him were 11 Bravery Medals & 3 Orders. Hi Lorenzo, as you see written in Arabic at bottom of this sleeve from right to Left " Al-Jeish Al-Sha-bi " which means " The Popular Army" which was the Militia of Baath's Party , at the top of this sleeve written in Arabic the emblem words of the party " Um-ma Arabeiy-yah Wahi-da Thatu Risala Khali-da" which means " One Arab Nation with an Immortal Mission" . The political manners for Ba-ath Party and its Army did not project any of its emblem words, no Unity and no mission and no anything immortal ,only staying in Iraq till now the Destroying and Crime and Killing for Innocent Peoples everyday. Hi members, For accurate information, this table medalion about the 1971 Golden Jubilee of Iraqi Army (50 years since it was founded in year 1921) and issued by Iraqi Ministery of Defence and not related anymore to Iraq-Iran War (1980-81 which is called in Arabic " Qaddis'seiy-yat saddam" .
