Thanks Brett, Nice to hear from you, best wishes.
Hi Paul, His shoulder seems to have two stars but his cap has 1 star. I can't see clearly. We have 1 star for lieutenant (Tegmen) and 2 star for first lieutenant (Üstegmen) (UK: second lieutenant, USA: second lieutenant) (UK: lieutenant, USA: first lieutenant)
Best wishes

My new Turkish Brigade patch. I think it was used after the 3rd Brigade

Paul,
According to the Regulation, everybody had to return, but nobody bothered to do so, otherwise there wouldn't be this much order on sale in different places. I think with the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and foundation of the Turkish Republic no body bothered to control the orders etc, which were banned to wear anyway. For foreign recepients I don't know, you are most probably right.

Demir

I checked the post in SPA, I am a member.
Please compare the tougras and the amount of rivets 8 versus 9 (2 on the right side). Also I said "normally" they cut, not never.
Best wishes

Hi,
This is only my opinion, let us wait to see what our friends going to say.
Another point, normally Godet and Meybauer cuts the end of the rivets.
Case was specially made for the medal by the jeweller.
As far as I remember Godet's interior material was blue, but of course it doesn't mean they all are0 -
Hi,
Although the base design of the medal looks like both, IMHO I don't think that it is either of them because of the tougra. Godet's and Meybauer's tougra is better written and more look alike to the original tougra especially in the middle (lines like waves). This medals tougra do not look the tougra made by them.

Demir
1. Godet
2. Meybauer
3. Original Tougra

Miloš Obrenović I, Prince of Serbia is wearing on his neck the Ottoman Neck Order - Murassa Tasvir-i Humayun - The Potrait of the Sultan with Jewels (which is considered as the first order or medal) which was established by Sultan Mahmud II (20 July 1789 – 1 July 1839)
The Order has the potrait of the Sultan Mahmud II on it.
Miloš Obrenović I, Prince of Serbiahttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo%C5%A1_Obrenovi%C4%87_I,_Prince_of_Serbia
Miloš Obrenović (pronounced [mîlɔʃ ɔbrɛ̌ːnɔʋitɕ]) (Serbian Cyrillic: Милош Обреновић; Anglicised: Milosh Obrenovich; born Miloš Teodorović[1]) (18 March 1780 [7 March o.s.] – 26 September 1860) was Prince of Serbia from 1815 to 1839, and again from 1858 to 1860. He participated in the First Serbian Uprising, led Serbs in the Second Serbian Uprising, and founded the House of Obrenović. Under his rule, Serbia became an autonomous principality within the Ottoman Empire. Prince Miloš ruled autocratically, permanently refusing to share power. During his rule, he was the richest man in Serbia and one of the richest in the Balkans.

Merhaba Demir
Here it is.
"13/12/33 (1333 -1917) Yavuz üzerinde bulundugum esnada"
13.12.1917 while I am on board Yavuz
This officer and the chubby officer on top with his wife (A lieutenant colonel - his uniform is from 1933-47 period - He also has the Medal of Independence. He wears the War Medal on his left breast instead of right) are Turkish. If you can say what is on his collar I may be able to say his class. It looks like medical doctor.

I just checked. The back of the photo has a note written in the old Turkish script. This was translated (by Demir I believe) as " when I was on board Yavuz" (other name for the Goeben.
Hi Terry,
Can you scan and post the reverse
Best wishes
