    7. Have you had a really close examination of the whole cross? The Sanglier stamp is extremely small. I have no doubt there are individuals on the forum who know this issue far better than I. The Sanglier stamp I am informed is from the Paris mint
    8. Chris, This is as good as I can get of the citation. I believe this is Mangins signature
    9. Yes, it is marked with the Sanglier just under the boule. I have 1916 and 1917 examples also and the Sanglier is difficult to find on those. I`m pleased to find another CDG collector. Your collection is excellent. I love the paperwork that goes with these more than the medal to be honest Jim This is my most prized CDG. Awarded to Lt later Captain Robert Circan 18 RI. I have a number of his diplomas as well as his CDG. He died of wounds 29th March 1918 Jim

    12. I recently have picked up a few Napoleonic period pieces including a Waterloo. The trouble is it opens a new collecting field for meThis MGS comes with 2 bars, Vitoria and Toulouse and attributable to a trooper wuith the 13th Dragoons. The holder of the award also fought at Waterloo Jim
    13. Dante, Many thanks for this valuable information. i really appreciate you posting Jim
    14. I am just back from a visit to the Chemin Des Dames researching a French Captain from 18 RI. However, whilst there I got fascinated at the actions of 13th September 1914 by the BEF so thought I would get myself a trio to the Guards. Attached is a 1914 Trio awarded to Corporal Frank Bradley Coldstream Guards. He landed in France 12/8/14 so must have been on the Aisne in September 1914. I am hoping this does not become another obsession, but I`m not confient on that point Jim
    15. Jerome, Many thanks for your informative reply. That really is fantastic information on this soldier. Regards Jim
