Thanks, Seeheld. If you like I can send you scans and you can post them for me.

Very nice Beobachterabzeichen, typical wartime example. And the dog tags are of second war pattern, the ones from the first war are smaller.

Thanks very much, any idea on award numbers for this one?

You got it Wild Card, that's it exactly, whatever 'it' is.

I recently acquired an interesting spange from a member of the 'other website'. I'm familiar with all the medals except one. Unfortunately I can't post photos, but the bar consists of 1914 EK2, Hindenburg Cross with Swords (neatly slotted in to replace previous Honor Legion Medal), Prussian General Honor Decoration, Hohenzollern Silver Merit Medal, the unknown medal which I think is a Mecklenburg Silver Merit Medal (on light blue ribbon), Brunswick Silver Merit Medal, Saxon-Altenburg Silver Merit Medal and Russian Medal for Zeal. So far I haven't been able to find an image of the Mecklenburg medal, only one with bearded portrait, whereas this one is not bearded. Anyway, if some of the advanced Mecklenburg collectors have an idea what this is, that would be great. It is a very small medal with the arms of the principality on the reverse. I suppose a combination of awards like this would indicate some sort of court lackey.

You just beat me on that photo, one that I was after and just missed.

Timo, I also saw this one and was immediately suspicious of it, mainly because of the lack of consistent wear, as you point out.

I saw this one as well, but was scared off by the weird combo and the mounting style.

I've been looking for a copy of that book for donkey's years.

I recently picked up an example of the Hessen-Kassel Waterloo medal. Does anyone have any idea as to number of awards for this medal?

That is the oddest combination of awards I've seen in a long time.

Thank you gentlemen, your help is always appreciated.

Andy, the documents span the years 1894-1907.

I have some documents to a Hauptmann Cunow in Grenadier Regiment Graf Kleist von Nollendorf No. 6. Any biographical information would be most appreciated.

These have been turning up on ebay a lot lately. I would quantify them as fantasy pieces.

Now that's an engraved EK I have no problems with, great piece.

Claudio, I'm glad you got this grouping, as I saw it on the update but was too late. A really great, complete set.

Wow, Andreas, that Black Eagle set is really something.

This document mentions the recipient, Oberstabsarzt a.D. Dr. Behrens, has been married for 50 years and is being awarded the "Ehejubilaeums-Medaille".

I have a document dated 1897 in Berlin for the Wedding Anniversary Medal. I've never seen one before, so if anyone could provide information or a photo of this thing, it would be helpful.

You just made my day, Claudio, many thanks. Some incredible groupings there. I like the one with the RAO mit Schleife und Schwertern am Ring, and the Mueller spange.

Rick is correct, most officers did not continually monkey with their spanges during the war. My uncle received several awards during the war, but did not upgrade his spange from the pre-war period. And his feldspange is a real dog's breakfast, breaking all the rules of precedence.

Very unusual to see a double SEHO bar, really great.

Incredible find, what more can you say?

I'm Stumped

You're right, Heiko, but the bar is absolutely genuine, no question. Obviously a very patriotic Hoflackei.
