I have a document concerning Oberst Wilhelm von Lauingen, who was apparently Fluegeladjutant to the Duke of Brunswick. If anyone can add details on him, it would be appreciated.

I have this officer as a Feuerwerksoberleutnant Willy Hermann Eduard Wienandt. If anyone can add more information, please do.

Tom, that's a great bar, and the SEHO is one of my favorite orders, congratulations.

Great, you even got his Visitenkarte.

I agree, Beau, definitely an underrated award, and one of my all time favorites. I have several of these on bars, including an 1870 example.

You're right, Andreas, it was the nicest thing I've seen on ebay in years.

Great photo, Heiko, what an excellent spange.

Hopefully a member here got the beautiful RAO Breast Star 1st Class with Oakleaves from evilbay this morning. I was sniped in the last few seconds.

Glad you got those documents, Christophe, I was trying to win this group as well.

Can you explain why you are convinced this is a non-combat Krieger Verdienst, and not a non-combat EK2?

Chris, you'll like this story: about twenty years ago a collector friend of mine was approached by a co-worker, who had found some medals in his dad's safe after he died. The father was a jeweller, not a collector. It turned out to be a Boer DSO and QSA medal, named to a Canadian mounted officer. I believe only five DSO's were given to Canadians in the conflict. The pair wound up in the military museum in Ottawa, if my memory is correct. I had the opportunity to handle these, and boy what a great pair of items.

Great photo of a real Prussian hero. Mackensen supposedly still fit into his subaltern's uniform at this age.

Those ribbons look awfully fresh, especially when looking at the wear to the MVO. Also, the EK2 looks very minty. I'm always suspicious of bars with uneven wear.

Great stuff, and ditto to what Rick said about that beautiful spange. I'm looking for the 1813, 1814 and 1813\14 non-combat medals of Prussia. Just got a mint 1863 non-combat.

Gentlemen, I have this officer as a Hauptmann with Schleswig-Holsteinsches Fussartillerie-Regiment Nr. 9, then later as a Major und Artillerie Offizier vom Platz in Marienburg. Any other details of course much appreciated.

Okay, thanks for the clarification Komtur, that's interesting.

Maybe I'm confused, but I thought the KO4 am Erinnerungsband was only awarded with the Geneva Cross.

Komtur, I was looking at your spange as well, but it looks like the KO4 with Genf-Kreuz was swapped for a regular KO4?

Congratulations on this excellent spange, absolute beauty. Anything ex-Seymour is bound to be special.

Wow, that is an exciting discovery.

Heiko, sorry to hear about that one, who was the vice-admiral? Wild Card, isn't that a Khedive's Star combo? Surely one-of-a-kind.

My new medalbar with a AEZ with crown
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States

Great spange, finding anything with the AEZ is nice, but with a crown is just incredible.
