Hello, I have never seen an Albrechtsorden with the ribbon colors reversed.

What about the weird ribbon on the SAO?
0 -
That is odd, and notice that the ribbon for the Saxon Albrechtsorden is reversed on the bar, it should be like the feldspange, green with white stripes. Could you post a scan of the reverse of the bar?

Those ribbons look awfully fresh, and the Togo bars look weird, but maybe it's just the bad photo.

Stunning example.

Great postcard, especially since the first guy has the SAOmK and I think it's a first class.

The Russian economy has tanked by about 70 percent lately, so those well-heeled collectors might be running out of cash soon.

Speaking of arcane, there is a particular North American country which persists in using the Imperial system.

Paul, he also went by the name August.

I also saw these, and didn't bid due to the odd EK's as well.

Thanks for the information. This one is named to H. Koehler.

I recently picked up a group of items, including a named Hannover Langensalza medal. Can anyone tell me more about this decoration, specifically award numbers and scarcity?

Does anyone have a listing of Pelkmann's awards?

Great examples, Chris. I always thought the Kabinett type docs all dated early in the war, when the EK1 was still an uncommon decoration. Obviously that is not the case.

Hi Sascha, you're right, what I meant was the large gilded medal is meant as a replacement for the smaller, proper gold one.

I have a couple of the small silver ones, apparently they are scarce. I'd sure like to find one on a spange.

Very nice, with the typcial Scharffenberg portrait on the AO.

Really interesting bar that certainly looks period. I would say the gold MVM is a spangenstueck.

Great examples, Tom, especially the one on the spange. I've always thought this an underappreciated award.

That's an interesting piece. I think it was popular for women to convert their husband's decorations after the war like this. I have an Iron Halfmoon which is similar.

Eric, that is actually an "I", not an "F".

Chris, I was also bidding on those documents, and got a couple of the other ones. Let me know if you decide to get rid of yours, as it would be nice to reunite them at some point.

Doesn't appear to be a possible combo.

Great grouping. The signature on the retirement doc is of course Heinrich Luebke, the president who one famously said to a crowd in Africa, "Meine Damen und Herren, und andere Neger" (Ladies and Gentlemen, and other Negroes", and who can forget his audience with the Queen, when he blurted out "Equal goes it loose!!", when in fact he was trying to say, "Gleich geht es los".

Medal & Ribbon Bar Question.

I find it hard to believe that any self-respecting Ordensjuwelier would mix up the SAO and the SVO ribbons, given that these decorations are commonly found. Besides, he seemed to have the mini ribbons for the Feldspange, so very odd.
