Best Kettchen I've seen in awhile, congrats.

I think many Germans regarded the Danes as close cousins, and the ties between the two countries cannot be discounted. I believe Graf von Moltke the elder was an officer in a Danish regiment.

Now that's an obscure medal. Looks like the Stempelschneider's name is Loos.

That's interesting. My aunt's brother in law was from Apenrade, and was KIA in the Waffen-SS.

Thanks, Sascha. It doesn't seem to be a very common medal, at least from what I've seen.

Can someone tell me what the correct ribbon is for the Sachsen-Altenburg 1903 Duke Ernst Jubilee Medal? Many thanks.

A humble medal, but in my opinion one of the best designed. I just got in a Godet spange, and to my surprise, it has the "luxury" version of this medal, gilded.

Claudio, the Kunstmann spange is incredible. Isn't that EK2 in Schinkel-form?

Nice badges, Ferg, it's amazing how different the crown is on the variant pilot badge.

Very nice medal, made from "Gusseisen", I believe?

Those fakers appear to be getting sneakier by the hour.

That is the most unusual combo I have seen in ages, congratulations.

Daniel, I'm looking for information on my great-uncle, Oberst Otto Heinemann. All I know is he received the HOHX in the artillery, but I have no date or unit.

Very interesting, and like Rick says, not common with the late PAE.

Scott, quit selling all those interesting bars! Pierce, I now have that bar with the Maurice and Lazarus.

Hi Bernd,
Sorry, I can't post pictures on this site, but it is a bar posted here before, with an odd combination of foreign decorations, including a Beligian Civil award and a Spanish Order of Isabella. I recently got this bar from another member, Noor.

I just received a bar with the SW Africa medal and China medal, both of which have the smaller ribbon suspension ring "fixed" to the medal, instead of loose, which is what I usually find. Can anyone tell me whether this is a variant, or whether all these medals had the two rings "floating" instead of fixed?

Right, Hermann Koehl, who became famous as an "Atlantikflieger" along with von Huenenfeld, I believe.

Outstanding bar, Paul, where did you find this one?

Stunning, first rate collection. Can we see a scan of the doc for the Prussian Pilot?

Gene, I have an EK2 bar with two clasps, courtesy of Heiko. I believe they are private purchase items from Heinrich Timm. Sorry, but I can't post photos on this site.

Good job resurrecting this thread, Chris, it is a really good read. I started collecting 35 years ago, Imperial and Third Reich, then I gave it up to help finance university, then I inherited some really nice family pieces, then I got married and started my own family which ended in divorce. Now I've been collecting again for a few years, and I've gone completely over to Imperial. The variety, the quality, the history - you just can't compare with Third Reich. I'm also not a big fan of AH's shameless use of Prussian iconography for propaganda purposes, as is evidenced by the 1939 Iron Cross. When I see a Knight's Cross, I think "Yeah, that's pretty nice", but my brain doesn't say "Man, I have to have one of those in my collection". That's what happens when I see a nice ordensspange from the Wars of Unification. As for value and investing, I buy only what I like, and sometimes I pay too much, sometimes I get a good deal. But I'm not in it to make a profit.

Very nice group, Chris, from Kaiserreich to Drittes Reich to Bundesrepublik. I particularly like the look of that MVO.

I concur with Heiko, not a possible combination.

Any chance of seeing those tunics, Sandro? They sound outstanding.
