Pardon my ignorance, but is this not a converted second class? I've never seen a first class with the reverse of a second class.

Great bar, I really love these "old-timers".

Thanks guys. Alex, I have doubts about the "Erinnerungs-Abzeichen" document, which if I'm right, should say "Flieger" somewhere, and for some reason the von Hoeppner signature looks too fresh.

I used to have a collar patch from one of these Johanniter uniforms, red with a nice bronze mini of the cross.

Gentlemen,
I noticed a group of documents being offered by website Der Rittmeister concerning a Hauptmann Hermann Krueger, CO of FFA 41. I haven't dealt with this dealer, and can find no information on this flyer. Can anyone shed any light on his career, or the documents in question?

This is a very depressing story. Right now I'm in the process of trying to keep together a group from a WW1 pilot. It's costing more than I can afford, but I can't stand seeing the items scattered to the winds like this nice spange was.

I like everything about this badge. Congratulations.

Jeez, just when you think you've seen it all.....

Beautiful award, I'd say one of the nicest Imperial awards, and at the top of my want list.

Ach du liebe Zeit, what a great bar. Early double BZL recipient, most unusual.

Did anyone see the engraved piece offered by Niemann a couple of weeks ago?

Alex, the second type with smooth arms is becoming scarce, prices are usually in the 4-500.00 USD range for these now. But you have to watch out for some good fakes.

Is it loose or on a bar? Which maker is it from?

Very nice and early document, when the EK2 still meant something. My grandfather got his at exactly the same time with Res. Inf. Rgt. 203 for actions at Dixmude. I believe he was the first enlisted man in this unit to be so decorated.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I really like this ensemble.

Did you say you traded this for 75 pounds? I hope I read that wrong.

If anyone has had dealings with the German dealer Markus Bertram, I would be grateful to hear about it.

Fantastic, Paul, that reads like a who's who of members of the Juncker families.

That's a really nice bar, I love the more obscure Saxon combos.

Ach du Lieber, stop the torture. That is simply stunning. Any idea whom the recipient was? Perhaps the same guy as the Hanoverian order?

Scott, I have a cased one without crown. Definitely much rarer with crown. As for price, I'm not sure.

Does anyone have an image of a genuine example of this combo?

Agreed, pretty boring so I'll take it off your hands. Really nice example, and scarce in the case. I only have one, on a group with the 50 jubilee button.

Thanks, Eric, this is why I frequent this site. I learn something new almost daily.
