Hmm, I thought this badge fell into the realm of "fantasy items", along with the notorious Balloon Badge.

Okay, I'm really reaching here, but the "stellvertretend", or acting, has been crossed out of the Major's title, so maybe a post-armistice promotion for him?

Interesting document, Chris, I'll guess that since it is issued "Im Felde" late in November, 1918 ie. post-armistice, then this would be a very late field award.

Joe's right, that is an odd pin arrangement, and maybe it's just the photo, but I don't like the details of the frame.

Unbelievable, you've got to wonder how many of the medals on those bars are fake.

A nice example in "Scheissmetall", I like it.

Great find, Eric. I love these freaky EK's.

Congratulations on a nice bar, Miguel. I love the St. Henry Medal. Is yours an award piece or private purchase? On that note, does anyone have an award number for the St. Henry Medal in the Franco-Prussian War?

Hear, hear, Rick and Stogie. The first place I always consult regarding Imperial is right here. I've been collecting a long time, and I'm always amazed at how little I really know.

Wow Scott, that is a great little Frackspange.

I tried to buy bar 2 some time ago, but I think Timo beat me to it. I was always convinced it was put together out of parts. The first bar is a gem.

Looks like a Bavarian Tapferkeitsmedaille in the buttonhole. I find it hard to believe that this guy didn't get an EK 1, considering he also has the MVO.

Now that's a nice combo, congratulations on this great spange.

Hi Heiko,
My father was an East Prussian, and this was one of the expressions he liked to use. Probably not in use today.

Very nice group, Chris, I especially like the Feldpost, which is rare from Deutsch-Sued-West.

Interesting spange for sure. I have a period bar which has a piece of backing spliced on, so the recipient could add a LSC on the end, without wrecking his old bar.

With those pictures, it could be anything. Also, I don't like the way the edges of this cross are finished.

Vollidiot, sogar scheinwerfer Arschloch. What a crime this is.

Fantastic stuff, I can't imagine how rare that gunner's badge must be.

Wow, that is an amazing collection, best I've ever seen. Can't wait to see the Bavarians, as I used to have a very rare Pilot Badge that was engraved.

Rick, those are some beauties you've had, especially the Stern.

A ridiculous price even for a genuine piece, let alone a POS fake.

Nice Halskreuz, Ed. I have it's twin from Wagner, hollow construction with real gold. I've always found the KO to be under-appreciated and rather attractive.

Interesting spange, which auction is this in?

NOT your average Prussian Landwehr Deinstauszeichnung!
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States

Interesting, and contrary to regulations wearing this as a pinback.
