recieved restored file from st louis found out he was Killed during amphibious Assault on Mariveles Harbor Bataan on feb 15 1945 he is buried in Italian cemetery SF CA. Died of mine concusion/drownding , Found info on LSM 169 (landing craft Medium) LSM 169 struck mine on way in on first wave One Halftrack was blown of LSM and all army crew KIA My guess this is his recon halftrack !

Purple heart Can't find Enlistment record on NARAs found on on a VA historical site but can not locate it again He enlisted Oct 9 1941 He was originally from Jackson co west Va born 1921 service # 33219043 also as a side note Pvt Thomas L Pitzer co A 399th IR Won the DSC for this engagement at Helfenberg germany on this date!!!

Lustfield took part in leyte landing on blue beach oct 1944 went to university of Illinios Urbana wrote for school paper the Daily Illini was a member of enlisted reserves called up his junior year sent to fort custer for infantry training found him listed in American Jews in wwII book on page 112

here my latest tough to find 6th division not sure on KIA # s of 6th i believe under 1000 anyway not much info on this one born Aug 2 1919 Killed in action Jan 22 1945 PIs from town of Salem Dent County Mo. army service #37057776 can't find his enlistment record My guess he was active service pre 1938 any info a help wrote for IDPF anyone have 6th infantry history looking for his company only know he was 20th regt
