Thanks, Rick. I think it is a shame that the Red Bible didn't include the correct (Russian) names of all the awards. Ditto for Battushig in his book (Mongolian names).

This particular museum is pretty good in displaying the real things, and what I had heard was that his Victories were not on display because they were locked away but that all else was The Real Thing.
See: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=9297
But why, oh why, did they have to put HIS awards in such a grimy and hard-to-photograph case???

I think a lot of the White Russians wound up in China, especially in the Shandong area, so this makes sense. An EXTREMELY rare one, yes!
I suspect the New White Russians would pay BIG money for this gem.

The other recommendations - The OPW1:

A good one, thanks.

No, scans, photos, from the original documents. What one gets from many of those doing research today. I, too, would feel quite obscenely sick if I had the originals!

Pictures don't help . . . when you hold one, you come to see . . . DAMN, this is a BADGE.
Also, so sorry to say, dictionaries don't help, much. Friends do.

Oh . . . boys, leather, and Nazis . . . the options are just TOOOOO many . . . .

Nice one! Thanks.
And aren't they a LOVELY
badge?!?!?

Stopped. And, yes, much chicken-scratching. No Revolutionary Penmanship Classes?
And the ribbon bar . . . yes, noted that.
Thanks.

Ditto-once again.
Ed, perhaps we should consider a Hungarian "research trip"?
Have thought about it, mate, have thought about it!
