Hi, Sebastian !
I wrote to You in the eBay message, I don't offer on the eBay copies, fakes, or other junks. Only guaranteed original medals and badges. I can't understand Your mistrust.
Regards: Zsolt (croma2002)
( Sorry for the OFF )
hello, many thanks for your public explanation. Well, I started collecting with soviet awards, and in this field one must have the habit of high-quality work about enamels. I know communist hungarain follows another tradition, but I've been surprised to see the enamel not touching the tip of the star branch, to see some enamel paint flushing above the edges... And on my red star the finition is better, without ANY enamel flushing. You can tell I exagerate, but such items are problematic with other kinds of medals, specially soviet or east-german ones.
all in all, I'm happy to have discovered a new delaer on Ebay...

hello, I don't like the enamel work of this order... Mine is perfect; do you believe the another one I show you below is a possible fake? This item is proposed from Budapest from "E".

seb16trs,
Sorry that I can not help you out in this area as I need to buy some for myself before having some for sale to others! I'll be away from Budapest for the next month on holidays so can not look for one for you either. Perhaps Charles or I can help in the fall when things get back to something resembling normal. Do you just want a representatioal bar or would you want one for a specific service? IE army, air force, flotilla, police, munkasor, finance guards etc?
Regards,
Gordon
hello,
thanks a lot for your help Gordon!
I just need the "bare bar" in order to medals together... I just want a representative bar for a general-major of the eighties,so it wouldn't need a huge amount of decorations.

Truly they are easy to fake - but there are not many out there for sale either. I have passed on some just simply because it was too improbable, or it was such a blatant attempt to make one up. The ones that I have found and purchased are rather - ho-hum, and so therefore I feel that they are a little more 'believable' in regards to originality. But still - its not a major part of my collection parameters.
thanks for your input gentlemen... I'd be happy to find a seller for such a bar!

hello gentlement, I'd love to see how were assembled medals bars... I'd be tempted to assemble a little bar for a general uniform. Thanks in advance for your help! Sebastien

Gentlemen,
I have all 3 of Lazlo's books in my library and they are great - worth every buck .
O.K., he is not an expert in phaleristics, but at least the uniforms and photographs are unique.
For military historians his 3rd book about the GPW is the most interesting.
Best regards
Christian
Christian, those books are only sure for post-1969 uniforms. Some cloth sets aren't precise (a 50ies admiral with a M69 cap, wrong pants in 49 and 55, fake KGB general visors caps, fake general service caps for infantry...). They're usefull once an expert collector has told you the complete list of errors...

Hi Charles,
Email sent.
Many thanks!
Dan
hello, Laszlo Bekesi is an excellent guy who tried to do a nice pedagogy, but at least 30% of the items displayed in its books are ugly fakes... (for example vol.1 a fighter orders set with an ugly Suvorov, in vol.2 a hero of soviet union, KGB general visor cap, etc....) Be carreful!!!

hello Ed, yes I was speaking of this cavalry veteran badge of very high quality... It is here in Paris. Never shown on the other big forum.

hello gentlemen, all that I can say is that a good friend of mine has this badge with a rotative tool-engraved serial number.
But, would it be possible to tell us the cotation of such a piece please?

hello, I have this book and it DOES cover civilian orders and medals !

hello, everybody now knows that they were taken the day after the final assault...I should take again my ref book, but some soldiers of the sgt. Kantaria platoon managed to climb on the roof in the last hours of the combats, but technically no photo could be taken without danger for the photograph. There were an order to put the flag of victory for the 1st of may... Those famous images were taken the day after with the reichstag "secured".
could anyone precise these facts please, my memories aren't so good!

no it was the common "40 years " jubilee medal, widely awarded in october 1989. The last one was the "Dr Richard Sorge medal" of the Stasi, but it was never awarded. Others relained prototypes (as the Stauffenberg order for example)

it is a pity this topic might be closed to avoid a fight...would it be possible t hear some ARGUMENTS from both sides? Kilka should expose with more details and arguments his opinions. A picture with a "do-it-yourself" procedure is too simple for me. And I believe there-re here some moderators who are able to examinate objectively this award.

hello gentlemen, I find this grup extremly interesting...what is the cotation of the 4th april order please?

Of course some fake HSU diplomas were entirely made up.
Here is an example.
writting is totally sloppy...

hello gentlemen, the orders booklets have clearly been bleached...I'm not sure but could the hero booklets have been entirely made up? The leather cover is unprecise, the paper looks news...of course all stamps are ugly. I've seen a better made diploma coming from Ukraine.
about this dealer, who seems to be the "leading faker in ukrainian market"
please look at this set (not orderbooks, so maybe out of subject...)
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/35-KGB-COLONEL-BOXIN...1QQcmdZViewItem
certainly a genuine group of papers and photos upgraded with two KGB and NKVD docs... old genuine photo on a brand new KGB ID, a brand new photo on an artificially used NKVD ID...all others docs are genuine in my opinion.
all rare docs, ID and now orders booklets are fakes, all stamps, writtings and numbers have been brillantly put into light by Shawn Caza, a fellow collector.

That's exactly what I said before about washed-out books. And this set also comes from Ukraine. Just remember the "name" of the person who will buy it. He might be a fake-maker.

Were the Order of Lenin's awarded to foreigners? Possibly "modified" to suite the "normal" suspensions of the awardee?
hello, it looks like a polish suspension and ribon device...POland is logicaly the closest country to USSR to use such ribons

starting from the 3rd entry all is crap; the roman numerals for "III" class are some ugly latin "1"....
I didn't take any time to further examine the medals...a whole made-up group based on a "doctored" booklet!

hello Gentlemen, do you know awards that can be compared in price and historical interest this Lenin? (in all countries field)
when I think to a hero of the GDR, sold for 18000 euros, belonging to Erich Mielke...an award more interesting by its rarity and almost its former belonger!...

Must I assume I didn't start a gentlemen discussion while speaking of "finition"? I don't know how to interprate your last sentence...
I believe there's a problem of vocabulary from my part, as I'm not english-born. I should have used the word "finsih"; this is my mistake. About "enamel finish" and "enamel default" I am speaking of possible cases of enamel slightly flushing over the rims or medal sculptures. In specific countries and specific periods, such a detail would invalidate a medal (soviet orders are in general perfectly finished), in others it is a normal detail and default are even a part of authenticity (Bulgaria for example).
To all: thanks for yours inputs. 80' hungarian orders are not as perfect as those of the previous years. About Croma, I can only be happy to have found a reliable dealer, attested as so by many collectors.
