hello Rick, they could take any botton they wanted in the stock... but I agree with you, the buttons years generally tend to be the closest possible to the visor cap date.

I picked up this visor cap in Beligum this week-end.

It is what I believe to be an aeroflot flight captain visor cap.

It is very well constructed, everything is symetrical and wellsewn. The visor cap is made of cardboard, with a rather matish black paint (while satinate on other cardboard visors), laurel branchs are correctly and symetricaly fixed.

The surprise is the general-type leather sweatband. This is why I played the game by buying this thing. The liner is made of general satin too; the diamnond sweatband is marked of the famous Moscow fabric, and is slghtly used. All is correctly sewn with the same thread. Everything is irreprochable.

Second surprise, the 2 chincord butons, which are of the army type, no aeroflot type. They are made of 2-pieces of metal, 1970 dated.

It would be quite easy to find aeroflot butons... but do you believe I found quite a neat kind of fake? Or this fabric is really genuine for a senior aeroflot officer?

The sets I've seen with the two diplomas seem to be the rarest and most expensive. I believe Czech collectors don't let go them easily.

hello, the piping indicates the service : yellow is for signalisation (Kornilov's jacket), blue is for machines overhaul (Paul R).

It seems that the visor caps does match the shoulder boards (the chinstrap indicates the ranks too). So Kornilov's uniform shown here is for me complete.

this set comes from a french gentleman estate. It was sold with these medals and accessories, all put and composed with taste.

the Engels academy badge (enameled version) and the sport badge.

the embroidered cuff bars... a pleasure to see because this is my first jacket with such traditionnal german embrodery.

the black collar. The color is near to stasi crimsom red. I'd expected a lighter red, because this is an artillery jacket.

some details about embroidery: all cuff bars and lapels are embroidered.

hello, what is the s/n of this piece? I don't have any of these "big" diplomas; is the s/n indicated on any part of this diploma, or does it come with the traditionnal small diploma bearing the s/n?

Nice set. Can't figure the date out without a much bigger image/picture of that award book.

so did I. And this set, coming from Shopbulgaria I believe, is interesting: a type 2 doc, with a small number, maybe below 1954 (or this is what I expect).
