I believe this strawbery piping to be medical general service; instead the caducea with red piping would be medical service within the infantry (or tanks in the case of black piping) division.

Brass pin? I guess it's olive oil.
you're the winner!
an old tip from Italian numastics, given by a fellow member of the GMIC, Lapa.
Olive oil is slightly acid, and doesn't cause any degradation.
I left the badge 2 months in an oil bath. Then I took him, deceaved to see no changes. But when I wipped it I was surprised to see the green oxydation was now a "mud" which went away with a smooth toothbrush.

let's see towards the Mediterran?a... a very old kitchen ingredient, softer than coca (phosphoric acid) and vinegar. ;)

coca-cola is good for ferrous oxydation...but here it is made from brass. We call that "vert de gris" here in France.
No, it is another product.
but you spotted the working area: the kitchen.

the star... Czech had an independant serie of partisan units awards, ranging from the star to the tiny badge, including medals, pins in all sorts of metals and enameling.

detail: this is a mere aluminium and lacked enamel creature...

the set medaillon-crown is fastened by a classic screwplate.

this curious piece... 53rd infantry division, "upgraded" by the veteran. The suspension disapeared, and the medaillon has been placed in a custom aluminium "crown".

Hi!
I managed to get myself a cased 1918-1923 medal & a 1933-1945 medal; both came with documents.
They were not expensive; but my dealer is known for offering his items for good prices. He is garanteed to sell things quickly & without any attempts at 'haggling', & he gets a loyal customer group too.
The Hans Beimler is one that I am looking for now, but I am not going to hold my breath for too long; it is a real pricey one apparently. One sold recently, without case or document for 400EUROES.
a bargain price; the average entry price is about 1000 euros.

ok! I remember this stand! A LOT of fake stuff too. I remember a nice partisan of the komsomol honour diploma, or a genuine partisan 1948 booklet... otherwise too many questionnable items... Glad to see you picked up one of the rare interesting items!

Yes you are right, there were mostly guns/daggers and equipment. There were only a few low level soviet awards (Red Star, Red Banner of Labour and a few medals) available and they were overpriced. Red Banner of Labour for 100 Euro and Red Star for 80 Euro. One vendor from the Baltic States had a few interesting genuine soviet dagger and Schaschkas, but in my oppinion very expensive. Schaschka was about 1.000 Euro and he had an navy officer dagger without catch button from 1945 for also 1.000 Euro. I didn?t ask for the price of the diplomatic dagger.
Except for one seller from Germany who quite collecting and sold parts of his collection there were only a few soviet medals. But this seller had many fakes. This group was the best he had. Nearly all his rarer awards were in my oppinion fakes.
hello, are you speaking about the young seller, on the right in the corridor between the main hall and the small small, which derserves a restaurant? This seller has 98% fakes...

No, it's dated 1958. One of the others have a 1962 date and the same style of hand printed text as the common 1958 have. Do you have any documents for the medal?
/Kim
yes I have got two of these, both with the small "ausweis" card. I'll try to make a decent scan of them.

KImj, your document with a printed name has been given on another year than the classical one 1958?

last row, far right.
