    1. It came up in a conversation. It started out as an Ebay conversation that grew from that I was going to sell my collection next year to him asking about a gun his family ended up with after the war. I had never gotten that far into the collecting to have an answer. From what it sounds like the Brits welded the receiver shut. He said it had the date 1943 on it and it looked nice and origional. I didn't want to buy it but I hate not knowing the answer and figured this was the place to ask. Thanks again Dan I am sure this will help others. I have been reading old post for 2 months now trying to get up to speed. When I get all my stuff out of storage I plan to post up and make sure I didn't get too burned over the years. I did start a thread today about a flag I just inherited but thats all I have pictures of right now from WWII. I have a great blade ( the prize of my collection) that I may post this week but I am not sure if this is the right site.
    2. Dan thats the best responce I have seen in some time on the web. Thanks for all the help. Yea I agree it sounds like a head ache and is not worth it.
    3. This thread was a lot of help http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=21129&st=0 I inherited this flag and have been curious to what it really was used for. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
    4. The weapon was demilled in the UK after being brought back after the war. Its dated 1943 and seems to be demilled by a tack weld.
