By the way, number 8 is a brunswick Order of Henry the lion 4th class.

He did not get a Friedrich August as a officer candidate 🙂 This would show up in the Prussian Army lists. His hessen Bravery Medal is the right one, believe me 😉

Just checked my files, he did indeed get both Bulgarian orders in the Offiers class. Why he did wear the Alex after the Military Merit might have been his decision, even if the rules were different.

The last 2 are both bulgarian.

Military merit order and Order of Alexander.

5 is no Saxon merit, but a Wuerttemberg Frederick knight 1st class.

7 is a hessen bravery medal, the saxon Friedrich August was never ever awarded to an Officer

About Paul Wolff - his HOH3X was listen in the Zentralblatt der Bauverwaltung 17.08.1918 as Regierungsbaumeister in Danzig, unfortunately no military assignment listed...so I wonder if he migt be the Hptm d.R. in FAR 20...

Tiedje is interesting, mentioned as Führer Sturmabteilung - I had him at the KaGOHL 2...

received the Albert Knight 2nd class with swords as Kriegszahlmeister Feldkriegskasse Etappenkommando 20 17.11.1916

The date for the Order of Merit is unknown to me. that was for sure in the last months of the war as not all awards were published anymore.

In a prussian newspaper I ve read about an NCO, who got the Militärverdienstkreuz- it was described as "goldenes Militär- Kriegsverdienstkreuz 1. Klasse" ?

Louis Müldner von Mülnheim,  

he was born 1.4.1876 in Angermünde, died 26.4.1945 in Potsdam;

in 1914, Captain, Adjutant of the 4th Guards Infantry brigade, later Company Commander in RIR 261, followed by an assginment in the General Staff,  in 1916 ...drumrolls...he became the Adjutant of the German Crown Prince, got promoted Major, after the war he still served as the Crown Princes Adjutant and Chef of his Court Administration.

I remeber, I did discuss that bar with Rick on the phone.

As he did say, a quite "more than odd" combination, which I would still consider as a put together bar.

The kind of "flat bottom" mounting is not 100 per cent a sign for a fake, but more than unusual

The sorting of the decorations is out of any rule or common-sense sorting

I do not like the combo at all, it makes no sense for me.

If I shall explain it more, I would prefer to do that under the old thread, not here.
