Very nice one!!
Congratulations!
There was only one bavarian Officer with that combination of awards.
Captain Ludwig POLAND. born 1873
somehow, after the China campaign , he retired and was called back for WW1.
The 1st ribbon by the way represents a WW1 4th class with crown and swords, I wonder, why Poland did not have the fitting attachment added...
There is no long service award because he did not have enough active years to get it.
Maybe after WW1, but this bar dates around 1916, I would guess.
Best,
Daniel

@ Laurentius, If I remember correctly, as Czar Paul I. did reorganzie the Russian Orders system, at that time "only" Andreas, Newski and Anna, into one combined Order.
As George and Wladimir were creations of his hated Mother Katharina, he did ignore them and the following Czars did award both Orders, George and Wladimir in the following 100+ years still out of the system.
The George was a pure Military Order, the Wladimir was always something "special and on top" in the Russian award system.
@ Deutschritter, exactly!!!

Daniel

Äh, a little correction.
The Wladimir was "out of the system".
Andreas knights did get the Newski, White Eagle, Anna and Stanislaus if they did not already had it.
If they did wear the Andreas on the collane, the Newski was worn on the sash, the White Eagle on the neck and the Anna at the medal bar.
If they did wear the Andreas on the sash, the Newski was worn on the Neck and the White Eagle at the medal bar, the Anna was not worn in that case.
...and so on downwards to the knights of the White Eagle....
Anna 1 did not include Stanislaus 1.
If a guy did get that kind of included lower Orders, only the highest Order was shown in the ranklist.
Best,
Daniel

Hi Laurentius,
Ruling Royalty and Princes would hardly get a RSt.
They would rather start with a White eagle or Newski.
Russian awards to Mecklenburg citizen - for that you need to check the Mecklenburg court and state handbooks.

Daniel

Hi all,
many thanks!
Acc. the higher grades - yes, Schjerning and Hindenburg - and Moriz (indeed Moriz) v.Lyncker are already known.
I am still stumbling with the 2 Bavarians above - Fischer and Reiß...
As non-Prussians are more or less 100 % in the Militärkabinett-files, and a 1917 award should be listed either in the MWB or Staatsanzeiger or Bavarian Personalmitteilungen, if these might period mistakes.
Nevertheless, I will add them with a questionmark.
All the best,
Daniel

Looks pretty complete!
Just one thing, he's never got a MMV1, thats a period mistake in the ranklist.
Best,
Daniel

I am very sure that he got "only" the brillants and not the swords, as neither Militärwochenblatt, or the Staatsanzeiger mention it.

Great!!!!! Thanks!
Zeno Maier - no fitting Maier in our list... maybe he' s got a princely Hohenzollern??
Lange - thats most likely our Lange from MGSSA 36
the 2 Müllers remain a question... who is who??? I do not have a LtdR in a FlgAbt who might fit, so he might be one of the Artillery guys.
Richard - no HOH, he' s got a HEK3X.
Best,
Daniel

Stern der Großkomture mit Brillanten und Schwertern des Königlichen Hausordens von Hohenzollern am 1. November 1916 zum 60jährigen Dienstjubiläum
what your source for that?
As far as my data says, he's got the Star in Brilliants without swords.

Daniel

nice group!!!
please keep it together.
The combination can be attributed to Johannes Otto Franz NONN, born 1882, started WW1 as 1st Lt in Field Artillery regiment 63, served then in different General Staff positions, ended as Major.
no spectacular prominent figure, but still a well decorated guy.

Daniel

great stuff!!!
I am quite sure, that we have now more or less ALL Reserve and Landwehr guys.
there are only a handful listed in MWB and StAnz and not in the MilKab files.
The remaining missing 50-60 guys should be all active officers.
All the best

Great stuff,
Thanks a lot!!!
The pure prussian areas like pommern, east and west prussia and silesia are indeed quite a gap.

thats....odd.....
I can not confirm his Ernestinian Commander, or the Sachsen-Weimar Cross.
Only things I have are the Hohenzollern and the Württemberg Frederick...
The other ones... self awarded???

I know that the Schwarzburg rolls are more or less ready and could be published sooner or later.
It only a question of time.
About Anhalt - I dont know how far Dave's work is.
About Triad's Godet -bar; from the combo Schwarzburg- Saxon-Austria, I THINK, it was one bar of Erich Menzel; see here
https://www.zeige.com/auktionskatalog/Grosse-Ordensspange-und-Urkunden--22648.html
The combo is quite rare, so I have the impression, it might be one of his with a limited assortment of decorations.

Daniel

@Lew, you are welcome.
@Triad, very nice godet bar. Will ask my crystal ball ?

yes, Christophe,
he was in Fliegerabteilung 266,
received the HOH3X 07.08.1918

Hi Lew,
the bar belonged to Max Gölitz,
Hauptmann der Landwehr ausser Dienst im Landsturm- Infanteriebataillon Chemnitz, in civil life he was a Kaufmann, business man.
I can confirm his Schwarzburg cross 3rd class with swords and his swords to the Sacon Albert knight 1st class, as well as the Landwehr long service medal 2nd class.
Best,
Daniel

Kaysers HOH was awarded 03.10.1918.
So he has never seen it...

Hi Glenn,
most likely the knight 2nd class with swords was not a 1870/71 wartime Philipp but a later peacetime award, which was automatically awarded with swords to Soldiers until the 1890ies.
The Philipp knight 1st class was awarded after that and therefore without swords.
Best,
Daniel

Yes, Glenn, its a Philipp IMO.
It might be Gen Karl Hanesse.
Best,
Daniel

Definetly not Francois.
The awards do not match; Francois was no Vet of 1870/71.
