    1. And here is another unit-level certificate for a member of IV/NJG-1 and signed by nightfighter ace Hans-Joachim Jabs...
    2. There are many variants of citations for Sports Awards from the more formal German Horseman's & SA Sports Badge to the less formal unit-level sports day certificates. Here is an example of the latter for a member of 52 ID and signed by Lothar Rendulic and also the soldiers booklet/citation for the Deutsches-Reichs-Sportsabzeichen in Bronze...
    3. Not a style of citation I have seen any variations of. Here is an example to a Doctor onboard the 'Gneisenau'.
    4. And a 1940 dated Fliegerschützen citation and again this one carries the stamped signature of Kastner-Kirdorf.
    5. Fliegerschützen mit Blitzbündel example this time to a He-111 crewmember who flew on numerous air-launched V-1 missions against the UK.
    6. Fliegerschützen ohne Blitzbündel example bearing the commonly seen stamped signature of Gustav Kastner-Kirdorf.
    7. This variant would seem to be a very commonly seen one. This was awarded to a member of SS-Leibstandarte's Artillery Regiment and signed by Gustav Mertsch.

    11. A very early war example being dated just 6 days after the award was instituted, so no doubt that it is a back-dated citation. This for a crewman on U-18.
    12. A Division specific variant to a member of 20 Panzer Division complete with the Divisional emblem in the top left corner.
    13. Luftwaffe Formal DKiG citation to a Stuka rear gunner (StG 77) who also won the Ehrenpokal.
    14. Another nice variant for another soldier in a Searchlight unit, of 4 Flak Division this time.
    15. A variant to a member of Fla.Btl 613 and bearing the signature of Friedrich Herrlein.
    16. As a range of different citation threads have sprung up they have started to dominate the first page of the section abit, pushing the 'everyday' posts further down the page. To overcome this problem I have decided (thanks to a pointer from Chris) to have a single thread pinned as a 'Catch-all' with links to the relevant threads for each citation type. So if you wish to find a particular database or add an item to one which may no longer be on the first page, just click on the relevant link below: This is currently a work in progress so if you see a citation type that has yet to be covered feel free to start a thread and I will add the link here. 17. Very nice historical piece. Wouldn't mind seeing some more of his WW-2 related paperwork in its own thread.
