So many variations.
Arnold Altvater-Mackensen was actually also an SS-Oberführer who resigned from the SS in 1942. Here is a picture of him (post #5)...

I read Altvater Mackensen, is this possible?
Very well spotted. In 1938 there was an Oberst Arnold Altvater-Mackensen in command of SS-Junkerschule Bad Tölz and he did indeed command Inf.Rgt 211 from October 1939 to October 1940.
Apologies for casting doubts.

That clears that up then.

Hi Andreas, is the first one you posted signed by Alexander von Hartmann? Stewy
It shouldn't be as he never commanded Inf.Rgt 211. In 1940 he was commanding Inf.Rgt 37. The thing is it does look like it is 'trying' to say Alexander von Hartmann but it can't be him. Does anyone know who commanded Inf.Rgt 211 in 1940? If that is trying to be Alexander von Hartmann's signature then it calls into question the originality of the documents. I have a niggling feeling that they are faked.
This is Hartmann's signature... AvHartmann

Feel free to add them. I can always 'tidy' them up if needed but you've got the hang of it now. The more people contributing, the better.

Neither of those are in the Signature Database (Lindemann is already there) : )

Very interesting set with I think everyone's favourite Heeres-Flak-Abz. citation variant!
The Assault & Wound Badge citations are signed by Knights Cross winner Werner Voshage - although the circumstances surrounding his RK award state that there is no evidence in the Bundesarchiv...
'no proof in Bundesarchiv ; obviously one of 5 men suggested by Div.Kdr Schulte-Heuthaus in march 1945 ; not mentioned in the files of the OdR Ordenskommission ; accepted by OdR in accordance with so-called "Dönitz-Erlass" ; award date determined by OdR' (Source: AHF)

There might be the odd ad-hoc typed up version out there but it would seem that GD only ever used that variant of citation. No matter if it was 1942 or 1944 I have not seen a different variant from GD.
