A new Ukrainian army decorations system was presented today:
Army merit cross (the highest decoration):
Gold cross (for sergeants):
Silver cross (for officers):
Steel cross (for commanders):
(BTW: yes, it looks a little bit unusual, but just such a "distribution of metals" is indicated)
Bravery cross:
Military honour cross and combattant cross:
Fortitude, contribution to army and saved life decorations:

Undoubtedly this is something Ukrainian but it looks like one of the numerous non-state awards (I think it belongs to some Kossaks institution). Compare it with the highest Ukrainian order of Freedom and look at the wreath on the old Ukrainian coat-of-arms

Jim, it's a great set! Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
Could you post the close-up of the star #10?
Thanks in advance.

Mirror, mirror on the wall! Part 3:
Croatia (order "Ban Ivan Mazuranic", the unrealized project) - Peru (military combatant's medal "Andres Caseres")

The name of this medal means "Homeland war memorial". It wasn't the civil war.

I found my own mistake in this thread but I can't edit it somehow. The right name of the pair in the post #196 is Colombia - South Vietnam.
Done! Uwe

Ilja, this is stunning. I have been in Swaziland (now eSwatini) several years ago, but I have never seen there any militaria items (I mean the cap badges and smth like this) not to mention the medals))

New Ukrainian army decorations
in Central & Eastern European States

This Combat Merit Cross comes from the old decoration of the UPA (Ukrainian Insurgent Army) instituted in 1944. The changes are pretty modest: the colour of the ribbon, the updated design of the trident and the swords are now upward-pointed.
