And here's an example of the opposite transformation - from a foreign (Laotian) order into a Soviet badge.

It used to be an ordinary Soviet military badge.
But (after a slight plastic surgery) it has become the highest South Yemeni award.
What a great success story!

The badge of the guards units (initially established in the Soviet Union in 1942).
1st row: USSR - modern Russia (three types)
2nd row: Belarus - Kazakhstan - Tajikistan (the National guard and the football club)
3rd row: Russian-sponsored unrecognized "republics" (Transnistria, Donetsk, Abkhazia) - communist Cuba
In addition: Soviet Union - North Korea - Ukraine (the obsolete badge; the "georgian ribbon" on the wreath is about to be officially forbidden in Ukraine)

What will you get after crossing a flower with a lion? A bird, of course!
One flower (principality of Lippe) plus one lion (Czechoslovakia)...
... equals one quetzal (Guatemala)
