    1. Nice set (without box and sash) from WWII. Breast star
    2. You don’t see them often ... To say nothing about seeing them on eBay ... And (as we know http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56351-golden-kite-breast-badge-with-bring-back-papers-on-ebay/) you certainly shouldn’t sell one through eBay Nevertheless …. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-Japanese-Enamel-Medal-Order-of-the-Golden-Kite-1st-Class-Breast-Badge-/380629665847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item589f4bc837#ht_562wt_1141 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-WWII-Japanese-Enamel-Medal-Order-of-the-Golden-Kite-/380629662732?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item589f4bbc0c#ht_562wt_1141
    3. I wonder how the seller was able to attribute this piece to "G.Rinzi - Roma" As for the ribbon - most likely later phantasy add-on
    4. Golden Kite was a very special order, that's why Taisho personally signed documents for 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 classes while documents for Rising sun and Sacred treasure orders were personally signed by this Emperor only in 1,2 and 3rd classes.
    5. These are modern fakes that are trying to mimic japanese (lower right conner) and chinese (others three) orders. You will find a lot of these beauties here http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/52001-fakes-quality-slowly-and-not-expertly-is-on-the-raise/ Cheers, Nick
    6. Curiosità indeed! Exactly! One possibility - mark on the upper part of the ring I tell you one thing - this metal bar on the ribbon is typical for portuguese (and spanish) awards
    7. A couple of examples of japanese documents with Emperor signatures Hirohito http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56023-lieutenant-general-yamada-seiichi-and-his-document-for-1st-class-sacred-treasure/ Taisho http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/56414-5th-class-golden-kite-document-for-tsingtao-siege/
    8. No wonder! Doc's for pillars the state are very rare Of course they are, but only the higher classes (currently only 1st classes + order of rising sun with paulownia leaves + order of chrysanthemum (grand gordon + chain))
    9. Hi Geof, unfortunately this is fake. It is trying to mimic the design of so-called China War Memorial Medal (Medal in Commemoration of Victory in the Resistance Against Aggression). Here you will find photos and basic info about the "prototype" http://www.ww2awards.com/award/2212 http://www.subvest.com/china-war-memorial-medal.html Best, Nick
    10. Of course Personally I think that all these micro differences can be explained by wearing of stamp (or medal itself). IMveryHO of course.
    11. Several different dies for 3 677 minted medals?! Is this possible? Hmmm ... I think everything inside zulässige Abweichung. Nein?
    12. I wonder who wore it and for how long
    13. But this one looks pretty worn out
    14. Very impressive quality (this was the very first medal!)
