Another original piece surfaced at YJ ...
No suspension, no bar and no ribbon, but nevertheless original

Who wouldn't?!
By such crappy photos nothing can be said with certainty...

Thanks David!

... his idea of price is more fantastic than the prospect of time travel in the next five years.
No wonder!
Personal involvement of Emperor - you can't put a price tag on that! At least "they" say so ...

Was Peterson correct in stating that this was a personal award from the Emperor?
If it is indeed personal award from the Last One, then I have a feeling that he was way too personal with way too many.
I know about at least 10 different original medals
Are there any conclusions we can draw from the ribbon bar that David was kind enough to post? Nothing too spectacular on that bar other than this medal. So nobody too high ranking per se.
Definitely not Marshal or Prince

a few of these NGO awards.
Do you have attributions for medals in posts #53, #54, #56 and #57?

What do you expect from nongovernmental medal?
Anybody have a picture of this medal being worn?

Well, this is model 1939 badge.
For privates.
In turn these came in two classes: higher (gold rim + gold rifles) and lower (no gold whatsoever)
Nice score man!

and something that can only be compared to something recently evacuated from a dog's bowels.
This one was made specifically for us by fakers from People's Republic of China ;)

750,000 yen is a lot for a chipped Third Class.
To put it very mildly!
P.S. Same goes for the 2nd class breast star without case and neck badge

Didn't Naval members also receive the Bravery Medal and Combat Merit Medals?
Illustrative answer to this question (from another thread http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/59040-cavaliers-of-ushakov-and-nakhimov-orders-photo-gallery/page-2?hl=%2Bnakhimov+%2Bbravery#entry551133)
Exellent group of two!

Obviously this medal has replacement ribbon from official National Foundation Medal.
Original ribbon looks like this one (medal that was mentioned by our colleague JC earlier)

Thanks for the link... So $3000 was the selling price back then....
Well, not that long ago I saw how such medal (without ribbon and case) was sold for less than $500
